new guy from Canada
Hey folks!
Have been reading a bit on these fancy hanging beds, and want to learn some more.
Am working on the second half of my first century, so comfort is foremost in my mind, and back ;)
Would really like to come up with something like Smokehouse has done!
Am a oilfield operator in Northern AB., with two adult(sometimes), children, and an eight yr old grandson.
Am an avid hunter since '72. Love hunting almost as much as I do shooting, so, of course, I reload.
Looking forward to "jawin" with y'all!
Later....

Hey, Bubba, I reload some but I'm an amateur. Been a hunter a long time. I think you guys have bugs like us, so I'd recommend a Claytor jungle hammock for your summers (mosquitohammock.com), but I have no advice for cold days except you'd be welcome here in south Texas where we hunt, we reload, we know the oil patch and nobody I ever met had snowshoes, skies or much of a winter coat.

Welcome LeRoy. You got some big deer up there. Enjoy your hanging adventure.

Welcome to hammock forum.
Its because of comfort in the hammock is the only reason I am camping again.
I went with the flow and bought a Warbonnet Black Bird. It was only a little more that most hammocks, but I found the comfort is great.

Hey LeRoy
I lived in AB for 20+ years of my middle life, and worked the patch some in the '80's
got in when it slowed down, got out as it got good again, go figure
kinda like how I bought houses, buy high sell low . . .
I am just the second side of half way as well . . . and comfort is paramount.
I have been enjoying a Clark NX150 . . . you might check it out.
Some complain about price . . . but for us AB guys it is the Hammock Hilton.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Jungle....was down your way (Telegraph), in May on the 24hr campfire hunt. Wished I was a little higher up on the food chain. Need a truck load of schooling/experience to get a job across the border :(
Am leaning towards the BB, but will look at the Clark.
Thanks again!

Welcome! Can't go wrong with a BB.

I'll second (okay, sixth:)) the welcome, and second the WB Blackbird. It's comfortable and well made. (Though if you want to buy Canadian, Hennessy Hammocks are the ticket, and have lots of followers on this forum.)
