I stayed at Blue Spring State park this weekend and had no problem. We had 2 hammocks hanging.
Anyone hammock camp at Fort Clinch or tomoka? I'm planning another motorcycle trip and I'm thinking these will be my first two stops. In the past I hammock camped at salt springs, collier Seminole, Hart Prarie, anastasia, and st George in the panhandle. I didn't know it wasn't allowed. I just put my hammock up and no one said a word.
Any word on Hammocking in Myakka River State park?
Please contact Philip Madden with the Bureau of Operation Services. He may be reached at 850 245-3076 or by email at [email protected]. We should coordinate our visits with him so the state is aware that people are interested in hammock camping, he can grease the skids if necessary, and you don't run into any problems when you arrive. And please be sure to fill out the survey afterward.
How does one go about making hammock camping reservations at FL state parks? It looks like the reservations are online only through reserve america. How do you go about ensuring that you get a site approved for hammock use? Sorry if this has already been answered, I looked but couldn't find it.
This is why you need to talk to Mr. Madden and let him talk to the park for you. I don't know how many others (if any) have updated their Reserve America info to reflect their hammock-friendly sites.
Anyone have any experience with hammock camping in the Little Manatee River State Park?
Thanks JaxHiker. Will do. It seems (hopefully) Mr. Madden is getting swamped with hammock camping requests.
