Dyneema SK-75 Core w/ a Dyneema SK-75 Cover 1/8"(3mm)

Not sure. It can be done, of course, but Dyneema is slick stuff, notorious for slipping under a strain when knotted. Also, depending on the knot used, it will derate the line quite a bit.Quote:

You could probably use a garda hitch, but I believe many people have stopped using that system due to possible premature wear on the cord. I don't personally know enough to tell you what knots would or wouldn't hold on it. Sorry. As for splicing, I may be wrong, but I don't think that even end to end splices or fixed eyes would work for the cord.
There's definitely other ways, though. Maybe the Hennessy lashing style , but I don't know for sure on that since your cord will be more slippery.

it turns out i am lucky as they don't have enough of it, so they didn't shipped/charged. thank you everyone for the help, esp. bieggolmai, a great find! i'll ask before i order next time... so the 3mm dyneema sk75 from this site is ok for both hammock hanging and whoopies? cheers!
