Hennessy question
I know this is a dumb question but here goes. So either The Hennessy ULBP didn't come with the side stretchy string 5 years ago or my father in law lost them over the last 5 years it's been in the attic. Either way where do I get a good replacement I found that regular static string just doesn't work as well. Is there something simple that can be bought locally to replace?

Any thin shock cord will work. If you have an old tent you can harvest the cord out of the poles. Or pick up a tent pole repair kit.

The local outdoor equipment store (camping,kayaking,biking,...) sells a small diameter shock cord by the foot. I had to replace those tie outs on my HH as well. If you have any similar stores near by I would check there.

How long are the stock ones usually?

I'm just guessing off the top of my head, but I'd say mine are about 4'. I can measure when I get home.

This reply is WAY late, but check out Just Jeff's page (tothewoods.net)on DIY tarp tensioners. Basically some cord tied with two clove hitches around a piece of sling shot material to absorb any play in the line. I think it would work well for you.
