Of note ... this was our first hammock camping trip! :woot: We are rocking the first ever Hennessy Hammock Design, our sleeping bags and our partially inflated Thermorest pads! Hey it was the dawn of the era! :woot:
In 2001 my son, my brother-in-law and I did our annual Thanksgiving Hike in Linville Gorge. For this hike we did a four day three night loop starting from the Table Rock Parking Lot. We hiked south on the MST to the Cambric Trail head where we camped for the night. On the second day we hiked down the recently fire ravaged Cambric Trail, waded the Linville river and headed north to camp the second night south of Conley Cove. On the third day we hiked north on the LGT, crossed the river at House Rock (pre-bridge) and up the Spence Ridge Trail. For the third night we camped on the ridge below Little Table Rock. The skies opened up for us that night leaving us in a heavy fog the next morning.
After packing up we hike up the near vertical trail to Little Table Rock and on to the Table Rock Parking Lot for the drive home.

Hey Hawk-eye,
Great slide show, looks like a great trip. The packs looked very heavy. I thought the bottom entry photos on the hammocks looked funny. I just had mine sewn up (hammock entry) and wish I had taken a photo before. I really loved the style of your slide show. The Music was awesome ! Who was it ?
Thanks for taking us along on a vintage trip.
Take care,
Bluefin

Thanks pal ... and yeah those were the old days those packs were 48 lbs to 55 lbs each. Of course that'd probably kill me these days! Ha! Yeah those older Hennessey's were less roomy too. I had my last Hen. Expedition sewn up and a MOD4 too ... haven't looked back since!
In the description ... it list the music called "Irish Jig" from a company called SmartSound.com. Great source of editable royality free music. Every once in awhile they have sales on their product. With the right software you can make the music fit the length of the project or content. Great company to deal with too.

Great video/slideshow, the music was fitting and sounded great. I remember when I had a bottom entry HH. Great hammock, it is still getting use from another HF member to this day. Thanks for sharing some of your memories with us.

Hello, Hawk-eye,
It’s nifty how the photos kind of flick onto the screen and pile up! What’s that, 11 or so years ago when you did that walk and you were enjoying hammocks right back then, lucky you! Thanks for the flick through the photos!
