Heya from Scotland!
Hello M'dears!
I've been sneaking around HF for a while now, and to celebrate the fact I'm about to invest in my first hammock (Probably a DD Travel Hammock, given that I'm paranoid enough to love the emergency bivi idea/have heard wonderful things about them, and Nick.) I thought I'd get an actual account and say Hi.
Plans so far, probably the West Highland Way in the late spring/early summer, and spending as much time hiding in the wilderness as I can manage! Having spent 2 years bouncing around ME on and off the AT, feels like time I went exploring closer to home. :D
Anyways, this is me- Hiya!

Welcome to HF! Scotland is a absolutley beautiful and the highlands especially so. I was lucky enough to spend three weeks there last spring.

hiya from Dumfries and Galloway. I'm out for the first camp of the year on fri, the first of many :) if you're ever in the area and fancy some company, gis a shout. I'm still trying to persuade my regular camping pal to ditch the tent and take to the trees, so maybe if we ganged up on him :)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
Scotchbonnet- I may take you up on that in the future, I've been mostly out of country when I'm hiking, so I'd be thrilled to soak up any hints/suggested hikes/hangs you've got. :D

Look forward to it :) Kirkcudbright is a favourite spot, some good fishing too, also take a look at the Southern Upland Way, it a lot closer and the bit of it that runs past Loch Trool is really close to me and a fantastic walking/camping spot.

I was actually looking at the upland way the other day- awfully tempted to go AWOL from the rest of the world and go hiking for a while! How did/do you find it?
