That last one Rev posted is ENO's picture as proof of the strength of the hammock.

Sweet, I like all the pics. I almost feel like I am cooling off just looking at them. Hippofeet's idea, that is the closest to what I was imagining. Add a few drops of Dr. Bronners, and you done hyginated till next april.
I saw an antique canvas tub at a garage sale this year. It was a collapsible wooden frame with the 'tub' part made from canvas, obviously waterproofed. (Imagine a camp cot with a saggy canvas bed closed off at both ends). It was collapsed when we showed up and the fellow opened it up in maybe 20 seconds or so. It had a definite 'wow, cool!' factor but was likely the last thing I needed to bring home so i am just going by memory.
I tried to find pics on the net but apparently they don't exist, except for on an episode of M*A*S*H*. Maybe i should have bought it!
What knots are being used to connect what looks like a biner to the webbing?
i forget your austrailian, you see her right side up...ha

Someone did a weight test involving A ton of water, A HH copy and a tub not to long ago.
They had a lot of weight before the suspension failed.
