Most tree straps seem to be 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch in size. I was doing some checking so I could make some extea and I notised that 3/4 inch were rated at 1200 lbs. Is there any reason that you could not use 3/4 inch insted of 1 inch?

the fat straps are for the tree, not to hold us up! :)

I wonder if anyone has used 3/4" successfully without harming the trees. I also wonder to what pount is the true standard why that is? It must have been tested at some point.
I'd still say its probably not worth the little weight saved at potential risk to the trees. Gotta remeber with out the trees we wouldn't be hanging:)
One of the other threads has the math somewhere, but I don't remember which. Whether 3/4 is good to go or not is going to be a function of the type of tree (soft bark needs bigger), the angle of your suspension (flatter means more pressure on the horizontal/tree) and your weight.
