Ontario Hang - Frontenac Provincial Park - Oct 15-17 2010

Greetings Fellow Hammock Hangers

The next fall hang for the Ontario Hammock Hangers Association will be October 15th - 17th, 2010 at Frontenac Provincial Park.

The park offers 48 backcountry campsites arranged in 13 clusters of 2 - 4 sites. All sites are accessible by hiking or paddling. So, I feel, this offers the opportunity for those that prefer to paddle vs. those that prefer to hike to join in.

Since the planned weekend is after Thanksgiving in Canada (Columbus Day for our American hangers), the site selection is first come first served at the park office. The cost is $11.75 per person per night with max of 6 people per site. The plan is to grab site cluster 4 (4 sites) on Big Salmon Lake so that there will be lots of room and to keep us separate from others campers in the park.

I'd love to go, but due to high economic stress and an incredible school workload I don't think this would be the smartest move.

Due to lack of people committed to attending this hang, it is being canceled at this time.

Perhaps this would be a better destination for winter camping as the park is open year round.

Sounds good, I would have been interested in this one but I plan to be paddling in Quebec during that time.

A winter hang sounds great!

I'd be up for a post Halloween-November/December hang or even a winter hang. It would be nice to finally meet the people I e-stalk..
