seriously considering hanging round...

Well, the idea first came to me when I was in the sandbox...mostly the thought that my back was killing me how I was sleeping. So, I had originally been looking to possibly make my own hammock, but then came across not only this forum, but the warbonnet site. I am now looking at purchasing a blackbird 1.7 double layer...not only for camping here in the states but for saving my back on those pesky deployments. Anyhow having been longwinded, I just wanted to say howdy and wondered what would be a good tarp for the above mentioned bb.

Welcome to HF and thank you for your service to this country. From all of the reports and posts you will love the BB. Any of the tarps from Brandon will be a great purchase. One stop shopping and all of that. I will recommend the Backwoods Daydreamer Tarps but Scott is not making tarps right now, between houses. Can't go wrong with any of the tarp makers on this site. JRB, OES, Warbonnet, Speer. If you get a Warbonnet tarp at same time as the BlackBird, you'll save some shipping costs.

Welcome to the forum. As HC said , OES, Warbonnet, JRB, Speer all make good tarps.

I love my Big Mambajama by Warbonnet. Plenty of coverage.

What do you want out of your tarp? Do you want to shave ounces, or gain coverage? Do you intend on using it 3-Seasons, or 4?

The Blackbirds are long hammocks, so don't err on the side of too small. Most all of the popular tarps will cover the Blackbirds, some just give more 'ooops' room. As others have said, we've got some awfully good tarp makers lurking around this site. It would be difficult to find a bad one among them. :cool:
