That is one sweet tarp there Raul and as usual, your video is muy bueno mi amigo.
Nice tarp but too bad Raul had to put a negative spin on ZPacks by implying a bonded seem is better. There is nothing wrong with a sewn seam on cuben if it is done properly. I am very happy with my cuben tarp from ZPacks and mine is still lighter so neener-neener-poo-poo. :p
BTW, don't take my post too seriously, it's mostly just tonque-in-cheek sarcasm. I don't consider this any kind of war yet as it seems that it took OES a really long time to make this for him. Let's not forget, MLD also has two awesome cuben fiber hammock tarps right now and the wait time is reasonable when I last checked a couple days ago.
Raul from what I gathered from the post, You had a Z-pack tarp from Joe, Sold it and bought one from OES. Is that correct? Do you mind if I ask why? Thanks
Actually it really went a little something like this:
Had a white Z Packs tarp... but found it not condusive to my likeness of stealth camping in non-camping areas.
Sold it and ordered an olive drab from Z packs.
2 weeks later Brian PM's me saying if I was still interested in a cuben.... I couldn't resist so I sold my SpinnUL MacCat Deluxe and some other items off the grid.
No particular reason in having either one. Both are FINE tarps so there's no sway in either direction in my eyes. Main difference... One is bonded and one is sewn on the ridgeline. So the Zpacks requires a bit more work to get it to be fully waterproof.
Thanks Raul, good insight, I always like hearing peoples thought process when it comes to buying gear. Ill be looking forward to a report on bonded cuben vs sewn cuben seams.
Do you have any pics of the wonder? YT is claiming that you are violating SME copyright. So the conspiracy to stop me from buying a CF tarp is in full effect;)
