I have a new skeeter beeter pro . Its my first hammock . I notice when i set it up teh hammock is pulled very tight in the center towards the ends. Almost like a sharp rise in the center of the fabric. If that makes any sense. It doesnt seem to want to relax so i find my feet laid on both side of this. Versus being relaxed in middle of hammock? And suggestion Im sorry if it doesnt make sense only way i can describe it,,
are you trying to lay straight down the middle of the hammock? most are designed to be laid in diagonally with your head on one side and your feet to the other side, don't know if this is what you are doing or not, if so, then i don't know what is causing it, maybe the suspension is strung to tight and not at a 30 degree angle?

sounds like it is strung too tight. Loosen it up so the straps are about 30* below horizontal and try it again.

What you're describing is the dreaded "calf ridge" or "calf pressure". Search HF using the "Search" function (near upper right) and you'll find innumerable threads on the topic. (I exaggerate: Actually, you'll find eleven threads!) Lots of good information there. Good luck! :laugh:Quote:

'Calf Ridge' can sometimes be improved by tightening or loosening the hammock suspension. Some hammocks seem more prone to excessive 'calf ridge' than others. As suggested, it can be less of a problem by laying slightly diagonally.
