Man, wish i still lived in SC now.At the time there wasn't alot of hanging.HS
There still isn't. Thanks to Rev, it's getting a kick start. I would actually like to see this Santee thing become an anual event. It's so centrally located that it's almost as if it was made for this. Sort of a Santee Fall Shake Out. I guess we'll just have to see how this one goes.
yup. i made sure that i picked a spot kinda in the middle, to make it as fair as i can.
i went yesterday, but man i had a rough time of it. nothing to do with the site or location (not directly, ha) but more of my stupid gear being funny.
anywho, there is one note:
FIREWOOD: they ask we buy firewood there. after 5, it doesnt really matter i guess, and theres NO cutting things down. foraging is ok as far as i know, but they ask you buy theirs from the store.
not big deal, but figure id put it out there.

I've found most places don't want you bringing firewood in for fear that you'll introduce bad critters (like pine beetles and stuff).
yeah, thats on the website, which is why i posted up that they ask you use theirs (and im sure it dont hurt the bottom line either) but cant really stop you either way.
I think I have the wife hooked on coming to this hang as well. Only problem is I don't have another hammock for her. Although she will probable want the to bring the family hotel and such but we will see.
MB im sure ill have an eno with suspension or a GTUL without suspension she can use.
if she has to, theres plenty of hotels not far at all.
no bug nets, but when i was up there tuesday i sprayed a touch of bug spray (i hate the stuff, so i rarely use it and very little) and didnt have an issue all night, and into the next day.
more pics. the one of the water and beach is pointing right at our campsite (the one for the hang) area, were just up the hill to the left.
