Hi there.
I know that this forum is mainly frequented by Americans but I've read of some German guys. Are they still active and maybe even interested in a German trip?
I would even fly to Sweden or somewhere else in Europe to find some fellow hanger.

Where are you located in Germany? I haven't hanged overnight yet, need to have my first night out somewhere -- maybe will try the forest close to my appartment if I don't get any other chance. Don't have much cash right now (student) -- guess this makes the nearby forest best choice...
I'm in Florida, USA and I'm going to Germany next summer with my family to Heidleberg, my mom went to the American high school there back in the 70s when her dad was stationed there. Might be there for 2-3 weeks....would loved to try and set something up like an overnighter or two dayer maybe....I"ll let you know what dates I'll be there closer to the time.

I hang north of where you live;).

Have been in the forum a good while now and tried to get something together in terms of a Euro/Skandi hang with Wild and Bomber. But yes, by all means I'm interested. Where about do you life? Like I said, I'm in Hamburg.

I'm from Frankfurt ;).
Dont know if this year is possible but we wanted to do a short trip in winter. We first thought of the Bohusleden starting in Gothnburg but we'll see if that works out.

Kuchenkabel got me hangin' first time a week ago and i'm hooked now :boggle:
We will usually hang around Frankfurt, but thought about a winter trip in January, maybe in the south, maybe Bohusleden, but i don't think we want to be too far out on our first winterhangin.
Heidelberg isn't that far off, so we can definitly do hang out sometime.

I'd be quite happy to go on a semi-spontaneous hang around Frankfurt. I'm sure I could use work as an excuse to go there to as we're in a datacenter in Frankfurt. :D
I've also got a couple of German colleagues that I'm trying to convert to hammockers but it seems I'll be making hammocks for them before they'll hang... At least I'm getting them more lightweight, they've realized that the German army sleeping bag does not have an optimal weight to warmth ratio... :D

Time to bring this topic back :)
Now that we've had alot of snow this time here in Germany, winter is slowly beginning to say goodbye. I would love to hang around sometime, how about you other folks?
I need to make an UQ to be able to make it through the night outside. I already stayed the night in the snow but that was on our balcony where I had the possibility to bug out back into warmth within seconds -- besides I've put all the warm stuff that I had available onto the hammock and that was no lightweight gear... wouldn't want to carry that load...
What about mid/end of february or beginning of march? Regarding my not yet thread-punched down UQ and some other commitments I'd prefer the latter. :rolleyes:
