Hello from PA.
Do some back packing off and on. The ground is getting harder each time so thought maybe it's time to try a Hammock. Will be doing a DIY to see if it takes. There is a lot of variables to take in, good there is a place to go to get a handle on it.

Oh there will probably be a few questions greenlespaul. I'm from the Reading area Pedro and I certainly hope hammocking is doable for me, it would be nice to get out a little more. Looking forward to stealth camping and not have to go against LNT practices to do it.
Try sewing up the hammock this after noon if the machine still works. Seem to remember a problem last time it was used a few years ago. Every once and awhile the needle would jam into something on the down stroke. Terrible bang and a bent needle. May have knocked something out of timing sewing Velcro.
Going to keep it simple the first time, 2 layer, 9', webbing suspension. Bare bones basic just to give it a try, can always add on to it or modify latter.
Hey are you guy going to be making more of those Dutch Clips?

Hey Spot if you would like we could get together one day and i can show you my setup to give you some ideas if you would like...i'm only 30 min north of you
maybe do a day hike onced this snow is gone on the AT

That would be cool. I usually do the Hamburg reservoir / Pulpit / Pinnacle loop a few times a year, but will have to wait till most of the snow melts. Heard rumors of 40's this next week, hope so.Just reading the MAHHA thread and it appears to be the same weekend for the fist overnighter of the year of me. Might just have to roll 2 into 1.
