spinnaker shall sail
shortly, from USPS that is..
i just sent Brian a payment for a spinnUL (spinnaker, like silnylon but basically silpolyester) Standard MacCat tarp.
this should be great for the mild weather trips Im planning. The Blackbird will have a new roof!
:boggle: 8.3 ounces!

I have the same one, you're gonna dig it!

i got the same but in a ultra, cat cut awesome tarp lil' noisy unpacking it, but well worth the coins imo. brian did an outstanding job!!!
-
How much is the coin on this one, if you guys don't mind me asking?

Can't wait to check out your new prized possession on our next trip Mike. Maybe you can turn me into a Spinnaker convert.

LC, i can tell you this: for me to buy enough spinnaker to do this tarp, it would take 7 yards @ $18 per - plus misc material. That would put me alone without labor near the $130 mark. What I paid for this tarp is barely over materials + a tip.
i have used spinnaker in the past, made a ground tarp with it, several stuff sacks and found it is - compared to silnylon - harder to sew. So my hat's off to Brian McMillian for offering such a fair price and such. Thanks!

This is almost enough for me to get the sewing machine out. We are not on speaking terms after I put it in the closet for longer than I care to say. I think I would be saving 1 pack of cookies in total weight for tarp material and self tensioners.'
Is the stuff as loud as everyone says? I also can't remember, the grey is the normal stealth grey that blends in nice? I have a day glow white tarp that it would be nice to change out with something a little less noticable.

yeah its pretty noisy but such a small gripe for such a nice piece, i would not have even noticed but the wife thought i had robbed wal mart of all the plastic shopping bags, i am thinking of securing my ridgeline much like you do for the blckbird, 3/4 webbing 15 ft long and some ring buckles and a biner anyone else do this or use this system???

I was thinking about doing the same thing kayaknut. The hammock is so easy to set up with them, why not the tarp too? Interested to see what the experienced crew thinks about this idea.
