Whoopie sling question
Whoopie slings look great but is it necessary to have rings, and clips/biners?
I don't want to increase my set up weight if I don't have to.
Also wondering; are the slings themselves heavier than the rope I currently have on my HH Hyperlite (Dynaglide maybe?)
If the weight difference isn't much I'd go for it but I'd really like some idea first.

I use whoopies attached to my tree straps with a simple marlin spike hitch and toggle. No rings or biners. You can pick the toggle up off the ground at camp, so you don't have to carry it in.
Not sure what comes stock on the Hyperlite.
I do love my 7/64" amsteel whoopies.

Thanks Shane. That's nice that you don't need those extras. I checked and according to Hennessy they use this on the Hyperlite:
"Suspending ropes: 1200 lb. test Spectra reinforced ropes with tightly braided polyester covering"
They look to me to be about 1/4" thick, so likely 1/8 Amsteel is lighter but you never know.
Does anyone know where you can buy this Amsteel rope in Ontario by chance?
