Asym quilt (HH)?
I was wondering if anyone has made an asym quilt that would fit a hennessy hammock? I'm interested in trying to make one, and if its been done i would like to have something to start with.
The right half of the modified picture attached hopefully explains what i'm getting at (thanks to captaincoupal for the original). Basically, it would only cover the areas where you're sleeping, with the hopes of saving on weight/cost. I am still sorting out the suspension system, but i figure i'll get that sorted out once the quilts together.
I guess I'm thinking lengthwise baffles head to toe and it would somehow articulate with the tie out points.
has this been done/does it exist?

I don't know about the asym part, but my Mt. Washington quilt had loops for tie outs on the HH

I plan to attempt an a-sym quilt for my HH bottom entry very soon. I have a couple of pretty well trashed sleeping bags here that I'll probably start with for pattern / proof of concept (I'm a hands on kind of guy, hate figuring it out on paper). If all goes well an insultex and maybe a down version could be crafted.
I cleaned my garage this weekend past so I'd have room to hang my hammock and work around it.

I was wondering about sewing on another layer under the HH, just in the sleeping section (as shown in your picture). I've got no bottom entry though, so bear that in mind.
I thought that with the extra layer, so long as there is a bit of extra width of fabric there, allowing it to make a decent space in there when loaded (so as not to compress the insulation), you could just stuff a SB in there, or maybe a pad, or both, or spare gear, etc. With one end open, and velcro to keep it closed once your "stuffing" is in there, then I think that could work. You may need some way of hooking the SB at the corners/sides so it doesn't just fall into a bundle in the middle.
The added benefit is that, during summer, the bugs can't bite through with the extra layer there!
Now, this is just brainstorming, so feel free to point out any flaws in my plan. I'm not sure, for example, how to make it work properly with a bottom entry.
