MN > Lake Maria State Park possibly

Hi all. I'm checking to see if there's any interest in camping at Lake Mariah State Park January 25-27. It would be a great trip for beginners and veterans alike as the park is fairly small but they have a warming house that's open 24/7. All sites are backpacking sites and there is a group site as well. If anyone would rather go to Mille Lacs Kathio State Park, that one is great as well and they have a larger park and trail network. IF we do this hang, I'll post a new thread with the details so it is all clear and concise. So... Who's in?

Hammock camping is banned at Nerstrand-Big Woods State Park but ok in Itasca SP. Check with the park before you continue then please post on the calendar.

Yes, both parks allow hammock camping and I've hung at both. I think it's a little strange that any park would not!

The weekend after the MN frozen butt hang was not the best time for me to plan this trip. I have not gotten any interest from potential attendees. I'll try again another time, but I think that this trip will be on my own. :tongueup:
