Attaching whoopie sling to Traveler ?

Ok I have the WB Traveler one of the members here were kind enough to send me whoopie slings to help cut down weight from my cinch strap suspension Now looking at the gathered end I look at the existing cord and it appears to be a part of the hammocks ridge line is this correct and if so how to you keep the ridge line and switch to whoopies I don't want to screw this up lol. Also can I just use the strap that came with the hammock as a tree hugger and put my toggle of of it may cut them down to 8' more manageable length Thanks the noob appreciates your help in advance

If I remember correctly, the WB cording is larks headed to the whipping with the loop of the ridgeline passed through. Once you remove that cord, you just run your fixed eye through the ridgeline loop then complete your larks head.

Yes to your second question regarding the straps.

I will just wait till Branden is back plus I will order some tree hugger s decided not to mess with the original system if I fall back to it I will maybe find something posted on youtube I do better see than reading anywho Thanks

PGIBSON at Arrowhead Equipment has a tutorial posted on his site. It specifically deals with gathered end hammocks and Warbonnet Black Birds. Should be the same with the Traveler.

Here is the jist of it.. Simply attach the fixed eye of the sling the same way I attach the loop. If its on a traveler, disregard to RL attachment. If you have a RL on your traveler than attach it as depicted.

And a little plug for the Traveler... Of all the hammocks Ive tried.. from $40 ENO to a $450 Clark... The Traveler is still my favorite.

Changed out the suspension on my new Traveler this weekend. It was super easy thanks to the posts on this thread! Don't know what I was so worked up over! :D
