New England Newbie!
Hey Hangers! Been lurking for a couple months and figured I'd finally get in on the action.
I've heard for a while now how great hammocking is and am going to give it a go this year. I was given an ENO Pronest for Christmas to start the addiction.
I'm living in MA now, but still consider myself a VT resident. Not looking to do much winter camping and am eagerly awaiting the spring. Here's my progression on the sport so far:
Bought some webbing and amsteel from DIY Gear Supply and finished my whoopie slings the other night.
Found the old sewing machine in my parent's basement, cleaned a lubed it to get the parts in working order again. Will be sewing up my tree straps this weekend.
I plan on buying a Superfly tarp and using my Neoair Xlite pad with my down bag. I plan on making a Fronkey bugnet, some bugnet snake skins, and a bishop bag.
Thanks to everyone who's provided so much great info on the forums and setting the hook, I've already convinced two other people to go the hammock route and I haven't even spent one night in one!
