Since this is the ultimate Hammock Forum...thought maybe we could include the meaning as well as what other people around the world call the Hammock.

some of them would be fairly easy to recognize but i especially liked the dutch word, hangmat.

in Pilipino, hammock is "duyan" (doo-yun).

The German doesn't really need the die. That is there to tell you that it is a single hammock (it also tells you the word is female).

In my neck of the woods, my friends have started to call it the 'monkey loft'.

Me too ... I like the Hangmat...being that I am Dutch and North American Indian....if I had know that I may have used it instead of Hana Hanger:D
