Well I'm from Vermont and have been hiking, camping, etc. my whole life. I finally figured it was time to start hammocking since I've got just about every other system. I got my first hammock yesterday and will test it with different set ups when it's cold this winter and then I will know if it works for everything else. Besides experimenting is fun. Of course, the challenge will be to keep my bottom warm. Maybe I'll just put a fire under it. :} Actually, I'm going to crawl into an integral design bivy with a thermo- rest pad under me. The bivy should breath fine so I shouldn't get condensation. Well I guess I'll find out. I have both down and polar guard bags to try out. The down will tell me how well it works. Well anyway ... Hello everyone and Merry Christmas.

Thanks Shug. I figured I'd have to stand up in the bivy before I slid in. He's funny. Doesn't sound like Ill want the termo-rest. Just something to move around. The bivy bag will be too warm If I don't vent correctly. We'll see.
