New Hanger in PA
Greetings all,
I'm a long time lurker, finally registering so I can contribute. I've been hanging since this past spring, but I've only had the chance to go out 4 or 5 times so far. I'm in the process of gearing up for some serious cold weather outings this winter (assuming I don't move to SC here in about a month). I'm located in western PA, not far from the lakeshore.
I was in the military for 6 years, and it looks like I'm heading back in within the next few months. I've always been an avid outdoorsman, but my stint in the Air Force provided me with a lot of great training in survival and the like.
I'm looking to 'get lost' some time in the near future before I return to the service. Possibly a couple months on the trail early this spring.
I'm very interested in DIY gear. I've already built my own bridge hammock, stove, and modified some other gear. My next project is going to be a winter TQ and UQ, and a better tarp.
I look forward to learning and contributing as much as I can.
Thanks all for the great resource!
