Possible? SURE!!! Anything is possible with enough determination, ingenuity and maybe a little luck.
The real question is how often will you be going to ground and your hammock becoming an overweight bivi bag?
I've read on here about guys tying off to bolders on the CDT, but for some reason that doesn't sound the safeest to me.
