Hennessey Customer Service Rocks!
I have to tell you all that I don't think I have ever run across a company with customer service even close to Hennessey.
I've been fighting with the standard asym tarp for my HHED for a while. Despite following some advice on this forum, no matter what I did, I could never end up with a taught tarp once I got into the hammock when the tarp was attached to the main line. I figured I was going to have to attach the tarp to the trees instead and I was worried about the coverage when I did that.
So, I email Hennessey this afternoon to inquire about swapping out my asym tarp for one of the hex tarps, planning on paying the difference in cost and shipping, but it would have been worth it to me.
The responded with the following email:
Glad to hear that your hammock experience has been overall a positive one.
If you send me you shipping address I will send you a hex fly for no charge. Ordinarily we ask people to send back items when they are doing a return or exchange but the relatively low value of the rain fly does not necessitate that. You can just keep it as a spare.
I was blown away. That is great customer service that goes above and beyond!!
I too got more than I expected....
I ordered a HH Deluxe Explorer, over cover and snake skins.
I also asked them to swap the smaller tarp for the larger one as mentioned on their site.
They had no over cover in stock but sent me the $139 super shelter for free and they also threw in the smaller standard tarp.
I am very happy with this "compromise".
