Received my snake skins earlier this week, well worth the price! Put the hammock up down the hall, using a clever door handle hitch. Got it on nice and easy, very swish and made putting the hammock away much quicker. Looking at it though I think I need a better suspension system anybody got any ideas? I really don't understand these whoopie slings but everyone seems to advocate them?
I changed the suspension on my old dd hammock for the "all in one system" from opie and it worked perfectly

I switched my suspension to a poly webbing/ul cinch buckle system from AHE and like it very well. Easy to adjust, and not much stretch.
You can take the webbing out, double it over and tie knots in it. At the hammock end, tie a loop with some other webbing and onto this you can attach a karabiner. The original webbing then wraps around the tree and you have small loops to attach your karabiner into. Here's a better demonstration.
you could ditch the DD webbing and get some climbing tape. You can get some from Urban Rock in London. You could use this tape with the karabiner or get some descender/rap rings.
I think the lightest option in going with the whoopie slings.
