I ordered mine last night 12
I am getting ready to buy my first tarp to compliment my WBBB. I try to make a habit of buying the right thing the first time, rather than cheaping out and buying something I regret later. With that said, the WB Superfly is $130, and a Kelty Noah 12 is $73. I won't be backpacking, so weight isn't a big issue for me. This will mainly be for motorcycle camping or car camping. What do you guys think I should go with?
I just got the 12 and set it up inside the house on my test rig. It was HUGE!!! I like all of the tieouts, I can see how it will be versatile. I think I'm going to pick up a 9' for me and keep the 12 for creating the honeymoon suite, winter camping, or when someone else goes with me.
So is there a secret to setting up two hammocks under the same tarp? I have seen the "bunk bed" configuration with one over top of another and using the same tree for one end but nearby trees for the other. Is there something else that people do?
For two hammocks under one tarp, I do two things:
First, I set one about 12-18" higher than the other. This helps keep hips from
bumping.
The other thing I do is instead of putting my hammock suspension in the center of the tree, I put one suspension as far right as I can and the other as far left.
Hope that helps.
Awesome, with a wide couple of trees that would probably work nicely. Thanks for the tip, I am going to test that out.
