Dutch Bridge review...
I do have a HH Exped Asym, but with neck issues I started looking for a bridge. Someone mentioned that Dutch may make me one. Without further hesitation I contacted him and away we went.
First off let me say Dutch is amazing. He was eager (er, rather willing LOL) to answer ALL of my questions. He stepped me through each and every thought or idea during the whole process. Once I had settled on what exactly I wanted he created it.
On to the review...
I received this absolutely TINY package in the mail. I thought there was no way a hammock was in there. But there was. I was greeted with a jet black hammock with grey triangle suspension and blue whoopies. Man this thing looks good. At the head end there is a double pocket. One pocket is PERFECTLY sized for my smartphone. The other is large enough for a paper back novel.
The stitching is VERY good.
This weekend afforded me a chance to go on an impromptu campout at a local lakeside campground.
I chose my spot and set up the bridge. Setup is a fairly straight forward affair. Just have to remember when you put the bars in it will lift up the hammock as it tightens the material.
Weather was to be low's in the high 50's and clear. Still, I wanted a tarp. All I had were my HH Asym and a Army poncho. I chose the poncho. Much to my amazement the poncho was VERY nearly a perfect fit. Sure it sagged a little and in a blowing rain I would have gotten wet but it DID work. I could have guyed it out wider and probably been okay. Inside the hammock I had my el cheapo mummy bag. It's rated at 0 but more like 15-20 would be accurate. I take this bag generally whenever the low is below 70. It's lightweight enough and packs small enough its kinda a better to have it and not need it deal.
At 57 I was HOT! The poncho was trapping a LOT of heat on top. ALOT! So, I was able to lift one edge (while still lying down) and vent. This was perfect.
Typically sleeping in the woods I sleep 4-5 hours on the ground or in the air. Doesn't seem to matter. This time I lay there about 10pm contemplating the universe and all of sudden I'm waking up at 3:30AM to answer the call of the wild! WOW! When I came back, I dozed right back off and woke up around 7AM! Talk about comfortable!
All in all, a customized amazing product from an amazing individual. Thanks again Dutch!
Pay no attention to my ghetto ridgeline and such...
Opened up. This is how I slept for a good bit.
Need the weight on this bad boy!
+1... that is one sweet looking hammock!
Great! What is the width of the spreader bars? Same at foot end as head end?
A bridge can really be extremely comfortable in some ways ( but probably not all) that a gathered end is not near as comfortable.
What positions were you able to sleep in? Fetal?
That is one sweet looking hammock, what u using for spreader bars?
Was going to ask the very same thing.

I was able to sleep in really any position. Fetal, stomach, back, side, half hanging out the front, on the ground with one leg in hammock, etc.... :P
Seriously, I MOVE when I sleep. ALOT!
Look good. That Dutch, where does the guy find the time.
Man, Dutch's karma must be really shiny! Nice 'mock! Congratulations, hope you sleep great in it!
My daughter and her GIANT stuffed puppy enjoying the new hammock.
