Tarps and high winds, any tarp damage?
This past weekend, our Scout troop attended a Fall Camporee. Do to a lot of rain over the few days prior, we were moved to a field, with no wind break. The forcast was for wind gust over 45mph. I don't know just how high the gust were, but I can't remember the last time we had that strong of a wind, without a tropical storm to power it. I had my DIY camo tarp, but did not hang it do to the winds. I used my Kelty Noahs 9 and some BWDD Aluminum Y stakes (DIY Gear Supply). I few time I had a stake pull out, but other than that all was good.
Has anyone else been in stong wind with either a Silnylon or better yet a cuben and survived without a damaged tarp?
