Never Have I Ever
Worked with such an ANNOYING material! Made some Snake Skins for my Kelty Noah 12 out of Tulle and it took about 45 minutes of tangling and frustration but I got it!!
Got some 1.9 ripstop coming in Wednesday along with some techline and a cinch buckle system from Arrowhead Equipment since it was on sale!
this DIY thing is just to addictive!
I would consider the tulle I have used to be too delicate of a material to use for snake skins. You may have some that is more robust though.
I have used it for an ultralight open bottom bug net knowing that I would need to be extra careful with it.
Nice work by the way and yes, diy is addictive.
do you have DIY plans
I would really like to see some plans for snake skins. I would like to make them for my ENO tarp and my Kelty that I ordered from Department of Goods. when people recommended it last week.

doesnt matter the width cause your gonna need only 10 inch wide section of it.
so measure out 10 inches on each end and cute length wise then roll seam the edges of the long sides
finally cut it at the center to make the two halves OR leave in one piece if you please
this is a very VERY lazy way of making snake skins and you get bulging in the middle that you can even out a little but itll always be there
Tulle is such a delicate material, that it really is not that easy to sew. I made a tulle snakeskin, it works well, has no weight to it at all, but you can't be rough with it in any way or it will "self destruct" I made my second oneout of no see-um mesh material and it worked out much better when sewing it.

I have found 2 kinds of tulle at Joann's... the flimsy kind and some that was labelled Fasion Tulle. This stuff is pretty strong. I even used it in a HH clone. holds up just fine... oh, they had 3 kinds of camo!
Sweet hammock there. Totally DIY ?
