Bridge Hammock Questions
Ok so pgibson mentioned that I should look into a bridge style hammock since I'm a stomach sleeper. So I see one online and Grizz's you tube vid but have any of you actually slept on your stomach on a bridge?
I seen a picture of one Dutch did that was Digi Camo (the color don't matter) and it looked nice and flat.
I use the BMBH from Jacksrbetter and it sleeps as flat as any hammock I've used. Very pleased!
While I can lay on my stomach, it isn't very comfortable for me @ 6'1" - maybe if I was shorter. Here's the deal for me: I can't comfortably put my arms above my head due to the length, and I can't comfortably leave them at my side due to the width. I'm skinny and it just won't work well for more than a few minutes on my stomach.
All that said, I've read some people's experiences that worked out well. You'll just have to try it to see since comfort is subjective.
I'm OK with laying on my arms, but my hammocks are wider than the BMBH. Need a pillow though to keep my face out of the hammock fabric.
While I'm mostly a stomach sleeping at home (with arms above my head), I tend to side-sleep in the hammock.

Try the Eureka Chrysalis. But only if you have your checkbook.
I'm 6-1, 170#. I just can't seem to get that diagonal thing going right. so the bridge hammock made the most sense for me. My wife (who does the bridge thing just fine) tried it once and now we have two of them. :D I'm not a stomach sleeper but I roll from side to back to other side very comfortably. It's a very flat lie.
I'm looking to Spend up to $60 or $70 on a hammock.
Grizz you make the GrizzBridge to sell?
I sleep on my stomach and side.
I sleep in my BMBH every night and it is the best sleeping hammock I own.
You could get the material together to make yourself one. A guy on this forum made one out of denim. It will give you a good idea if you like that style or not.

Yep. Or try to find a group hang and see if someone can bring one of their bridge hammocks for you to try out. If you were closer to the Pac NW, I'd let you try mine, darn it. I get pretty flat and can lay on my stomach, but my back does start to bug me after a bit, but this is due to some old back injuries from a few car accidents when I was younger, so I'm not really a good yard stick to gauge from.
I can tell you that some folks who love to sleep on their stomachs on a bed actually prefer to sleep on their sides or back in a hammock. I think it's because of how the hammock supports the body -- much different from a bed. You might just try a normal hammock, put a pillow between or under your knees, and see if it'll work.
My best to you, whichever way you end up going.
Ok thanks. So I am purchasing Southernfan6885's Grand Trunk Single in navy blue/blue. Comes with 6' whoopies, 6' straps, and 2 dutch biners. Excellent condition, never slept in. Ready to hang
