That was so funny Hangnout! Jenny and I laughed out loud on that one...
To SoCalBB: If you try one of these suggestions and it works, let me know what it cost you and I will reimburse you the amount. Least I can do. Like I said before, if you want to send it back for another one, that option is still on the table. Thank you for the help everyone!

I also have a lot of allergies, send the item back. Good quality perfume, will not air out! Cheap stuff (Toilet Water) might or might not air out. Fabric dryer sheets cause some of us problems. Fabriceze has some nasty chemicals in it, and can also cause problems.
Some Ladies magazines have samples of Perfume in them, your merchandise could have gotten next to some kind of perfume sample or something highly perfumed. Your Postie could have sprayed perfume around his/her delivery vehicle?
I would just send it back.
Good thing it was not Axe cologne!!!!
My TQ from them smelled of Raman Noodles, slugs, testosterone and Cheetos...... and now my own funk blended in. Just perfect in the woods.
Stormcrow will do you right.

haha i laughed at that one too... Im glad the mrs was there when i unboxed it... that would have been hard to explain--"Honey=--= i swear-- it really did smell like this out of the box" lol.. "mmmhmmmm  "..
Storm-- Thanks man-- i appreciate the offer-- but i dont need any reimbursement or anything like.. Hopefully i can get the scent out and all will be good.. I just happen to be the one guy that is allergic to perfume.. Those samplers in the magazine send me into a wheezing fit--and forget about going into the department stores-- i have to hold my breath half way through the store lol... Right now i have it out in the garage(my gear room)-- getting fresh air-- we can see how it does after a week of that... I go out from time to time and compress it like stix said..
thanks for the suggestions on here guys.. I might try that sent blocking sheet that was mentioned before if the garage doesnt work... I have had the mrs wear it in the house while watching tv.. I like her scent :)
You can look around on EBay for an inexpensive ozone generator. One of the ones with the plastic tube attachment to ozonate water. Putting stinky items in a plastic bag with the ozone tube running into the bag and loosely seal it up should work.
I've also done it with hanging stuff up in a closet with the machine running in there as well.
You ever smelled South Amboy at low tide? It's intoxicating! The first time I flew into New Jersey, I fell asleep in the back seat as we drove down the Turnpike to the Jersey Shore. Suddenly, I was awoken by an overpowering stench that woke me up.
"What is that horrible smell?" I asked. My wife said, "Oh, that's just South Amboy at low tide."
Avon boxes are pretty notorious for tearing open in shipping facilities. Thin cardboard with a cardboard lid rather than folding flaps on top = lots of spilled contents. My guess is that something like that resulted in a broken bottle leaking onto this box.
Remove the quilt from the box for a night and see if the cardboard smells as well. If it does, make sure stormcrow gets the box back as well for proof so he can file a claim if he needs to with his carrier.
