Knotty's method runs mason's line through the channel just to gather the fabric. The strength in Knotty's method comes from lark's heading the ENTIRE KNOT of fabric, not running the suspension through the channel. The lark's head pulls down super tight on the fabric. And the seam (a doubled-up chunk of fabric) is big enough to create a "stopper" that the tight lark's head can't slip over. Good luck! :D
