Thank you NarlocB. I was going to use a "Spot" so she could keep track of me. She traveled quite a bit over the years, and although she camped when I was kid, she wasn't a 'backpacker' ...so she was...
Thank you TrailSlug, you are so right. The woods have always been where I go to 'regroup'. Good to be back! I cannot believe how much I've missed while being away! It's rather exciting to see what's...
Thank you brianb. I agree. My mom loved the outdoors as much as I, so getting back to the woods I love so much may bring a bit of emotion...but I believe a lot of healing will come to my heart and...

I've been MIA for three years - so I wanted to say hello again, especially to the NEHHA members. I've missed you folks!
My mom was diagnosed with cancer three years ago the first week of October....
Nice!
My husband's 'boys' [Lab mixes] would chew up my stuff...otherwise, it would all be hanging in the great room here!
I did the same with my Expedition Asym.
Great additions! Loved that hanging bear!
Anyone else still 'drying' out their gear? Thanks to the continual rain I am having to hang stuff in my cellar a few pieces at a time to be sure nothing...
Good...keep them scratching their heads!
It was thanks. Been clean a couple years now. He lost his dad and two of his dad's brothers to p-cancer. So his doctor didn't mess around and...
Great photos! Thanks for posting them!
Hello and welcome!
Nice! My buddy Gypsy and I did the Tully a few years back. We had a great time even though we ended up hiking through torrential rains later the first day.
^^^ What Nighthauk said! ^^^
Welcome C-Zero! Another MA hanger here.
Umm...yes, yes it did! Those kids just loooove a challenge! :D
Thanks to Nighthauk, lilprincess, and your family for all your hard work to bring this past weekend together!
It was an absolutely wonderful weekend! That torrential rain didn't dampen anyone's...
It was a great hang! Thanks all! I cannot wait for the next hang!
(Now let's hope my son does not pick that weekend for his wedding...*Grin*)
We'll "keep the light on"...or maybe not with all the rain. :scared: But you'll be missed too if you cannot make it.
Ugh...that happens. Hope you have a good weekend though!
Oh darn. Sorry to hear that you won't be with us this weekend!
Lots of scrambled eggs maybe?
My husband had prostate cancer a few years back.Yep, some of those procedures are darn cool....
Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night...oh snap! Wait! That's the old postal carrier motto!
I'll just bring an extra blue tarp...won't be pretty, but will help keep me dry! ...
 Will do! I just do not like to get out of my hammock at night unless I absolutely must. So anything that makes it easier for me to reach out through my bug netting is what I'm working towards!...
Yes, I tend to use one of my trekking poles to lift one side for 'air' on warmer nights. Being in New England it is not uncommon to have rain, wind, or heavy dew form at higher elevations sometime...
Nice! :) Thank you for putting the vid together for us.
As long as it is not raining I set up my hammock first and then position my ridgeline to rest on my tree huggers. It can be done while raining if you go back and re-set the lines over the huggers...
Same here! Will do!
*Any chance to convert folks into a 'hanger' is a good chance...:shades:
I love hiking the Greylock area. Sorry I missed out! Great vids. Thanks!
Helloooo! I've missed you all! I'm IN! IN! IN! I am hoping my hiking/hanging buddy can join this year too!

It was nice to meet you too. Ditto!

And now you know why so many of us never 'go back' to tenting! ;)
Lovely pictures, glad to hear your first time out was so awesome. :)
He is soooo not kidding!!! I thought I had everything you could imagine in the back of my Equinox...Sky has me beat, by a looooong mile!
That is so cool! Thank you! (I've been out in my gardens past two weeks so been MIA a bit from the forum.)
Great pictures! I was hiking while you guys were fishing...no shots of the hook removal. :(
I did take some pictures along the trail(s) though. I need to resize a few of them before I post.
Agreed! Not a 'newbie hanger'...but first time meeting folks from the forum. It was awesome! You all rock and I came back with soooo many ideas!
It was wonderful to meet you folks too.

I have not only the original ridgeline pocket from Hennessy, I had 2QZQ add another ridgeline pocket when they modified my Exped.
So in no particular order:

Thanks! :shades:
Still have room for two more? My hiking/hanging buddy just found out that she has that weekend off too! We'd love to join you folks and meet other hangers! :)
LOL! Amazing how the older we get the 'harder' that ground is! ;)
Exactly!
Ditto.
I didn't choose my hammock over a tent for weight issues...it was for comfort. My last camping trip with a tent years back was in the Attitash, NH area with my kids and our 4-H group. I was so darn...
Agreed (original post) and Agreed! From time-to-time I still shop at EMS or REI. I am hard to fit for tech wear and I do not like to sew my own clothes!

My grandies thought the bottom entry on my hammock was cool...I don't plan to let them see that...I can just see the antics at our next family...

Excellent. I have never heard of anyone having trouble parking overnight there. Good to hear the same from a 'local' hiker. ;) Thank you.
We noticed that on one of our days hike to the area. Put it on our 'to do' list for hang/hikes. :)
How is the parking down off West Mt. Rd? Safe enough? The maps say it is a designated overnight...
We've hiked in from all the 'compass points'. Last time we mostly hiked and hung on the north-western side. This year we plan to spend most of our time on the eastern side in the Peck's Brook area....
It is.
Very addicting. Me too. I find myself 'mulling' over my hammock and gear quite often.
Next project is to turn my military poncho liner into an under-quilt. I normally only 3 season...
He is awesome to work with. I inadvertently neglected to tell him how I hang my tarp in my order instructions. Stu contacted me within a very short time of receiving my order to sort that out and my...
