daily bump. what, no one wants a 0 degree quilt just in time for summer?!
I've decided to try some different hammock equipment, so I'm selling my older stuff. I have a Hammock Gear Incubator 0 underquilt and a Dream Hammock Thunderbird. They're both a few years old, but...
Funds received. Will ship asap.
looks like it, i just weight mine in at 15.4 oz on the dot. stuff sack included.
bump. .
This is for my Hammock Gear 20˚ Phoenix Underquilt. This is a partial length (3/4) underquilt. I originally bought this back in Nov 2014, but then got an Incubator not long after, since I could never...
Haha, i have a couple actually! A little rain doesn't scare me... or even a lot of rain.
Hey everyone! I've been away for quite a while, and since last time I've moved up to Vancouver, WA. I'm super excited to get out into the woods soon, especially with this nicer weather starting to...
Thanks for the responses everyone, I'm gonna go ahead and say it probably is my underquilt setup that's the problem. I'm the most experienced hammocker in my family/friends, and that's not saying...
I just got back from a weekend camping trip, and the temps got down to somewhere in the 40s I would guess. (I need to get a new thermometer to bring with me...) Anyway, I was really cold with my 20*...
Well that depends on if you lay to the right or left, and which side of the hammock you get in, but personally, I sit down and swing my feet across the centerline to the opposite side of the hammock....
+1 on dutchware. Check out http://www.dutchwaregear.com/ and join us!
I might be interested. My summer could go any number of directions at this point, but if I'm available I'd go!
Ah, well sorry I can't help then! Good luck!
Nice video! Better than a lot I've seen. Sounds like your next item on the list will be underquilts... But if the pad works for you, then more power to you! Congrats on 19 years together!
I have one for the regular 5, I don't know if that'll work on the 5c though. It's the brown colored one.
That's right, I remember seeing that a while ago but couldn't find it again. That is very similar. Thanks! I'll see if I can find the part about the better bracket now.
Since Hammeck is no longer producing their products until further notice, is there a set of instructions to create their hammock stand as a DIY project? If not, is there something close? I have a...
I've never heard of that before.... I'll have to give it a try! I've always just made sure the trees are about 6 paces apart, give or take. I'd reiterate about the widow makers. Make absolutely sure...
Ah... Just saw this now. The wife and I already made plans to go camping for that weekend further north near RMNP. If you guys plan any other overnighters this summer/fall be sure to post them! (if...
Welcome! I'm in CO as well, currently up north of Denver, but I may be moving down to the Springs at some point this year. Let's hope this nice weather keeps up and we don't get anymore snow!
Here's a pic from mine from last year. I don't have any close ups since I'm at work, but I'm looking forward to using it more soon!

I like using Zing-It (or Lash-It or whatever) for my guylines because it's thin and smaller than amsteel. Amsteel is great for other things, but overkill for guylines. If you have a ton of it and...
I thought the point of hammocking was to get off the ground?
I just got my 11' Tadpole last month for my birthday. I only got the tri loops added because I like how easy it makes adding guylines. I also have a Superfly, so this is my smaller tarp with no...
Army vet here too. '09-'13
Awesome! Thanks guys!
Another chance! Thanks so much Dutch and Alana!
My Hammock:
I would build a 10 ft (or maybe 11...) simple hammock with a Fronkey style bugnet. It would have a fixed ridgeline with the organizer...
I agree, it's fun to plan out these projects, even if I may not get the chance to do them for a while. Of course the chance of getting to do this at all is great!
Nice work! I always thought making a DIY quilt would be really difficult, but your post makes it seem doable. Still some work, but not impossible for me. I'll have to give it a shot sometime.
Just this weekend I was dreaming out getting a sewing machine and making my own hammock with Dutch supplies! I couldn't afford it though, so this is awesome! My tablecloth hammock is ok, but not...
Thanks SilvrSufr, I didn't even think to read the TOS. And your post is very helpful stuff too.
I do like the ideas though, I'll have to think about this some more, especially the ramifications of...
I've learned so much from you guys here at Hammock Forums, and from the great vendors here. Pretty much all my gear is from cottage vendors and I want to keep it that way. I'd really love to give...
Thanks! I'm glad I made it, now I don't have to have trees to be able to use my hammock! It was a pretty easy project, and a lot of fun. I'm hoping to get back outside soon, but now I have about 6...
Well Monday night I went out again, as the temps were only supposed to be in the 40s. I made it through the whole night with ease, though I got a little chilly in the middle of the night. When I woke...
Ah, good question. I did have a little inflatable pad under my feet. There wasn't much wind, maybe a little breezy. I think the main thing was I only had some thin layers on and more than likely my...
Wow, thanks for all the responses everyone! Looks like I have plenty of videos to watch now...
Well... I tried.
I built my first Turtledog stand over the last two weeks, and finally got the chance to test it out last night. Out here in Colorado, it was supposed to drop to around 9 degrees,...
What youtube channels are you guys watching when you can't get outside to hike/camp/hammock? The ones I like right now are:
Shugemery (of course)
Joe Brewer (used to be Biophtera or something)...
I just went out to Home Depot and got everything needed for the TDS, except the wood. I couldn't carry it easily so I'll just go back later this week. I was just curious though, would regular wood be...
I won't have the chance to get out this week, but I just got back from Home Depot with most of the stuff needed to make a Turtledog hammock stand, so hopefully in the next week or two I'll be out...
Are they still waiting on the titanium to get in, does anyone know?
Oh I'm being very patient... I only check around 4 or 5 times a day!
Ah, ok. Well hopefully it came in then. Either way, another week won't kill me. I know it'll be worth the wait when I do get my quilts!
