Welcome from the northwest part of Indiana!
Welcome from the Northwest part of Indiana. Our scout troop took a 5 day river trip down the Manistee with a river guide and he was a hammock camper as well ! It was a Great trip.
Are your son or nephews part of a scout troop ? We have a couple of camps in the area that would probably be available.
I have finally gotten around to making my stands. I haven't trimmed the legs and I'm not really sure I will as I kind of like the height of my tarp.

Just finished my tutrledog stands and now I'll have to stop at back at HD and pick up a few more things to make this stand ... Yeah !!!
Great bug net mod ! I've already got the grommets and I'm sure my wife has some strapping around. I'm also going to use the strapping to add the netting poles loops as my Everest Duo Hammock netting...
Added me to the list as I'm going on 3 weeks now. I came back from scout camp (and my hammock) and when I got up the next morning my back was not happy. It picked up a $9.99 hammock off Woot and put...
Man ... snagged again ! I saw the continous loop video and then watched the whoopie sling videos. Ordered 50 feet of green 7/64 amsteel and bought a loop turner at Joann Fabrics. In 3 evenings I...
I might be the quiet type ... or just don't like to type. The kind of guy who goes to scoutcamp and forgets to take pics.
N. Indiana takes up a few miles ... East or West side ?
Yeah ... I can relate to that ! I always find great info, but don't have too many new ideas myself. Welcome !
A friend at work just bought one on Woot ... her first hammock ! Yes ! Another one gets bit.
Thanks for the info ! I've been converted to hammocks for awhile now, but I am just getting into the amsteel whoopie slings, continuous loops, and dogbones. Too much fun !
Is that the TKS De-Ice Fluid Funnel ? 152621
Outandback ... thanks for the pics ! It always helps to see a visual on what ideas are working.
Welcome from South Bend, IN.
I've got one too ... but I don't think I would put 2 bodies in it. Even small kids unless you really stake out the ends.
I've been thinking of buying a costco membership ... that maybe be just the right incentive.
Welcome from Northern Indiana. Still trying to calendar in one of the Indiana hangs.
You may just decide that the Yukon will fit the bill. I used a skeeter beater pro that is basically the same kind of hammock and used it for about 4 years
Great Video ! I am looking forward to the "Boot System Demo" ... can't stand cold or wet feet.
Thanks !
Right Handed and sleeping feet left in my old Skeeter Beater.

Welcome from your Southwestern neighbor ... South Bend, IN. I used to live and work in Mount Clemens, MI and would pass through Ann Arbor every other weekend.
Welcome from South Bend !
Added my South Bend, IN location.
I'm a little northwest of you in South Bend, IN. I've shot a couple of CAS matches in Warsaw and have been in Ft Wayne a couple of times. I couldn't make the Southern Halloween campout, but hope to...
Wow great find ! I might have to start hitting the local Goodwill boutique.
Welcome to the forum. I've been through Duluth on the way to the Gunflint Trail ... long before I found hammock camping though.
Being in scouting as an adult for the last 25 years ... I too packed extra for those newbies boys. Now as a Unit Commissioner I'm trying to pack less and letting the younger Scoutmaster take over...

Good ideas. I have been thinking of picking up a poncho liner and giving it a try. I'll have to check out the The Bunker store to see if they have any.

Wooo Hooo ! Bought all of the materials ... now just have to find time to put it together. Looking like maybe Sunday might be the day then pics on Monday.

The name is leftover from 8 years of Cowboy Action Shooting. I had to pick an alias and I like to have fun, so I picked Wild Mike ... and I'm still kind of wild. ;0)

Nice looking setup !
Amen to the pounding heart noise. I tend to fixate on it and never drop off. I used to have a hard time falling asleep the first night in my tent, but in the hammock it seems much easier to nod off...
Wow ! Was just looking at ordering a set of snake skins. Heading to the $store tonight.
Great Book !!!! Hummm ... I think I need to reread it again.
Old bones ... hard ground
Hammock ... best sleep ever.
Welcome from Michael in Indiana. Been in Boston for some training for a couple of weeks ... long time ago.
Camping with the scouts I've gone through different phases of sleeping arrangements. I started out with the traditional tent for many years. Then decided that I wanted to stand up to change clothes...
I really like the handle & velcro strap idea !
Nice job on the tarp !
Mike
Welcome form you Indiana neighbor !

I can't remember if I ever posted in the intro section. I hail from South Bend, IN and have been camping in a hammock for ... OH about 2008. I first joined this forum to glean as much info about...
