This if for local pickup in Cleveland, GA only. There's too much to list everything, but the highlights are:
UL bridge hammock made by another forum member, don't remember what the material is,...
Whenever you do get around to it, Raven Cliffs is definitely NOT away from everyone else. That place gets as crowded as a mall on the weekends. Burrells Ford on the Chattooga has a free walk in...
That is awesome. If you guys decide you're willing to make one to sell I will take one.
I'll be hiking the Georgia section with my brother and his girlfriend starting March 27. I'll be sleeping in a DIY 10' 1.1 poly hammock with a HG cuben tarp and 20* HG quilts. Plan on going netless...
That's right smack in my neck of the woods. All of the places mentioned are great places. There's also the ****'s Creek area, last time i was there a lot of the sites had a lot of trash, but that...
I haven't been up there in a couple of years but I know there's water in the beginning, in the middle, and towards the end. I think there were a couple more sources a lil off trail, but given the...
Great video. I did a trip in that area a few years ago from Trapper Lake to Coffee pot Springs Rd. That is some seriously beautiful country out there. Your video really makes me wanna go back.
I used to only do sewn channels until i noticed the fabric tearing away from the first stitch line of of the channel. It only happens on my lightweight fabric hammocks, (1.1, 1.0) but it happens on...
Yeah, I don't want to do a bunch of whoopies. I finally remembered what it's called, it's called a clew, it's actually talked about on The Ultimate Hang. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out to see...
Yeah you'll have a hard time finding spots to hang on top, might want to consider picking up the handy hammock stand or the trekking pole hammock stands that someone on here sells. I think they're...
I finallyspent a couple nights in an Amazonas Moskito Hammock this weekend that another forum member gave to me and has been sitting on my shelf for a year or two. I instantly fell in love and it is...
I live in N Ga and have that same quilt. I get 4-5 months out of it. Once the temps are getting down around 50 I bring a piece of pad just in case to stick under my back. I have taken it down to...
What's it actually weigh with suspension?
Man I really hope the kevlar holds up with the speed hooks. I love using the speed hooks on my hammock stand, unfortunately they do tear up dyneema. I had a line snap and drop me on my butt a few...
Are the weights you listed for all momentum 10 or is it with the robic 1.0 outer?
you could get a few more miles out of panther creek if you hike all the way to the end and back. dont expect to have the waterfall to yourself. it tends to get pretty crowded. you could get lucky...
You should consider teaming up with Babelfish5 for menu ideas.
If there's not one planned you could always plan one.
Not sure about the bear canister, I tend to avoid the AT like the plague. Expect it to be quite crowded (the reason I avoid it). If you want some solitude check out the BMT. It starts on Springer...
Those averages sound about right. That time of year I'm rocking my 40* setup and maybe a mid-weight base layer shirt just in case the morning is a bit cool. Definitely need a bugnet.
I'm not a vendor so I have no such restrictions. Here are the things I see wrong with the video and system.
1. ENO did not take anything to the next level, they are way behind when it comes to...
I wouldn't get too excited, I have some 2 gram ti stakes and when I tried to use them as a pot stand they started bending under the weight of the pot once they got hot. Mine aren't Terra Nova so...
Welcome from Cleveland...again.
Just so you know, you don't have 1100lbs of breaking strength. Your breaking strength goes down by 30-50% (depending on who you ask) when you put a knot in it.
Are you looking for general backpacking gear or just hammock gear?
Welcome from up the road. Try to come to the Raven Cliffs hang next weekend. You'll meet lots of cool people and see lots of cool gear.
Welcome from NE Ga. If you want to meet some fellow hangers head east in a couple weeks to the Raven Cliffs hang.
If you're just car camping I guess it would be ok, but if you're backpacking then it is over priced and way too heavy for the degree rating it is. I personally would never buy one. There are way...
As a fellow North Georgian I would not want to use the vented sock in the summer around here. During spring and fall, when bugs are down you may not want anything. I know I love being able to sleep...
I'll take it. PM me your PayPal info.
I probably won't be able to camp but I will probably be able to come hang out during the day with my son. He's been bugging me to go to another hang for a while now.
Do you have plans to sell them by themselves, without webbing?
There are already a couple of bivy hammocks available out there, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for one more. The issue I see with this is using silpoly for the top. even with the vent you're...
After a conversation about this at a hang a couple years ago I actually made a UL version of this with dynaglide, a dutch biner and some GG Thinlight pad. It even has a TP dispenser and a place to...
Yeah let me know, I'd love to have some gram weenie approved pole mods,
I'll take #4, PM me your info.
My suggestion in that post would be perfect for what you're looking for as well.
That's awesome. I bet you could make spreader bars out of them too. I'll take a set, how much you want for one?
Burrells Ford most definitely does not have cell coverage.
Well dang man, I'd love to join you but I'm planning on heading up to the Burrells Ford campground for a long weekend of fishing.
You could have had a bad hang angle or been too inline with the hammock. Was your foot end a lil bit higher than the head end? I personally tend to scoot down in my hammock more towards the foot end...
Better get there early for Dockery Lake, there's only 12 sites and they fill up quick.
Burrells Ford on the Chattooga! There's a campground that she can hang out at and you and the kids have access to the Foothills Trail, the Chattooga River Trail, King Creek Falls, Spoonauger Falls,...
The Chattooga in the Burrells Ford area.
I'll take the green one with 2 tie outs per side.
I do that same thing with Dutch's ridgeline quilt hooks on a prussic. I like the biner idea because then you can still hang stuff from it.
Google hammock kama sutra, all of your questions will be answered.
Are you comfortable in your current hammocks? Do you get a good nights sleep in your current hammocks? Are you happy with your current hammocks? If you answered yes to these questions then, no,...
I'll take the HUG, PM me PayPal info.
