When I've hung at 20 or below I always bring an extra Nalgene bottle or two and boil some water before bed, fill it up, throw a wool sock around it and put it in my sleeping bag before I get in....
Here's an option too with the daisy suspension included
Simple Living Outdoors Double Hammock - with Free ($23 Value) Heavy Duty 10ft 16 Loop Tree Straps for camping, backpacking, hiking and travel...
for $60 I'd look into the warbonnet traveler. I liked the lay better (as compared to a singlenest) plus it already has the suspension with it. my 2 cts

this is post 211 on this thread! check out his method for furling tarps
The Switchback would most definitely hold you and provides different lay than the blackbird. What didn't you like about the blackbird lay?
I don't know if it is just because I am broad shouldered (5'10" and 235 lbs) but I have felt absolutely no shoulder squeeze in my Warbonnet Traveler, whereas in my ENO single I felt a little bit.
I'm sorry I should have clarified... I am in nothing but t shirt and shorts. I used to get down to 40 in just a sleeping bag with a fleece liner (nothing below me, sleeping in t shirt and shorts) and...
It really depends on what kind of sleeper you are. I'm planning on my 2 layers of insultex taking me to 40 possibly lower as I am a very warm sleeper
one is probably a top quilt
Is one a 1.7 and the other a 1.1? Those fabrics are different
WOW!!!! The traveler is amazing! I like the 1.1 material on my traveler way better than the 1.7 on my blackbird and even better than my eno single. This thing is wide! I do not think I found an...
*****UPDATE******
THIS ENDED UP TWISTING MY WHOOPIE AND ONCE LOADED WAS VERY HARD TO MOVE. IT PUT ME ON MY BUTT BECAUSE I WASN'T CAREFUL... I changed so that my nacra replaces the toggle for the...
woah... never heard of that before :scared::lol:
Well I complete the nacrabiner with the diamond stopper knot and then connect the "biner", then i larkshead that to the whoopie. I haven't lost...
The Warbonnet Net would be better if you have a structural ridgeline for it to support itself. If you do not one could be easily made. The suspension of the guardian net it was turned me to the...
Easy method to not lose the nacrabiner... just larkshead the nacra to the whoopie, when pulled tight it won't move, but if you wish to adjust it can slide along, that way you can keep track of them!
Thats the beauty of cottage industries..
we are willing to wait for a great product!
any other reports from those who have used these with insultubes? Mac I am excited to try these on the traveler. I don't mind not having an outer layer of ripstop because the white color will work...
I'm 5'10" and 235... I went with the DL 1.1
nope... i've something else planned...
Item is sold pending payment
sorry about not mentioning it is in the woodland camo
This quilt is a great quilt for the backpacker looking for small pack weight and bulk, but still wants a synthetic quilt. This is brand spanking new and has only been on one test hang. This could be...

Pot is flawless!! I have used this twice to test it out, and have decided to go with another cook system.
One person, nesting cook system keeps your pack kitchen neatly together. Features a 1.1...
Traveler offers a cadillac lay and is very light. single layer 1.1 with line strap is 12.5 oz, you could lose a couple ounces by switching to whoopies or ucr and use straps without hardware
Spinn...
check out this thread, and that is just since last july! Every comment is going to say that the blackbird is super comfy (which it is) and then you will be asked what kind of camping are you doing:...
I always found it nice to pack a second hammock for people to try. Especially if I bring out the blackbird, everyone wants to try it. The benefit of hanging on a college campus is that many people...
MacEntyre is making these now and the innovations keep getting better and better
DL 1.7 blackbird was wayyyyyy more comfy than my ENO singlnest, however, I'm using the singlenest because of pack weight, and used during the winter. I have a dl 1.1 traveler on the way though......
It was a double fisherman's knot
I use a larger diameter (2 mm) prussik knot than the 1.75 ridgeline , however, I had to loop it around 3 times
I bought two neat sheets that I bought for $4 and I just gathered the ends with shock cord suspension for UQ and made a footbox for TQ. NO SEWING REQUIRED! These are both real light once you take out...
Pretty soon I will have the dl 1.1 traveler in my hands... now to lose the pounds so I don't stretch it out! Regarding the stretch, if and when it happens, is the stretch permanent? Does it corrupt...
it would depend on the diameter of the shock cord, 3/32 or 1/8 would give large differences. My summer neat sheet underquilt weighed down the suspension of all 3/32 shock cord.
Here is a video that might help you. Shug series

I actually have made my tensioners tied directly to the hammock, and the guylines are attached to them via double fisherman's knot. I found this helpful because then I can change the amount of...
