Hammocks aren't for everyone. I've met people that just can't do it.
My suggestion would be, to lay in your hammock every chance you get when you are at home. Hopefully you will "acquire" the feel...
I leave my CRL attached to my tarp. I use mountain goat mesh skins, so when packed, you don't have the CRL exposed. Keeps it neat and easy.
I'll take them.
I have a 5 yr. old and from my experience, pads do not work for kids.
My daughters favorite hammock is the bottom entry HH but keeping her UQ on that is a challenge.
She also likes to swing in...

That looks delicious! Please send me the recipe.
2QZQ is where I got mine.
I'll definitely check out their website. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for al the suggestions. We ended up going to the campsites just past the flea market (left at flea market then immediate right follow this until there 2nd bridge turn right, primitive sites...
Looking for some good "car camping" spots that are hammock friendly. Preferably on a river and not to congested.
Thanks!
I really like this! Your hammock looks great and the wind shield is awesome.
Hmmm, I've always had mine pointing in the same direction and they're both right lay hammocks. I think I'll try the head to foot when I get home to see how that works.
Very nice. The only thing I would recommend are rubber bumpers on the ends of your spreader bar. This will help prevent you from damaging your tarp.
Here is the my dutch set up if you're...
Once they start shipping, I'm sure there will be some good reviews to follow...
I don't see much stretch in the rubber band, is it needed to give some relief when you get in? If not, couldn't we use a continuous loop of Amsteel larksheaded to the end? This would alleviate the...
I would go with good insulation as top priority.
What's your budget? I'm sure you'll get some great advice/recommendations if you post how much you are willing to spend.
One downside of the spreader bar is the movement. If the person next to you is moving around you definetly feel it. Now times that by 2 or 3....It would probably feel like a roller coaster.
OK, so I added a dogbone to the head end of each hammock and this solved the issue of the spreader bar being inside the tarp and rubbing each time one of us got up.
In case someone wants the...
If I can't get the bar moved outside the tarp I might try these.
They kinda look like a bicycle inner tube with a hole drilled in one side. I probably have some spare inner tubes in the...
I'll play around with the height and pitch when I get home. Yes, it happens when either of us get up and the other one is still laying down. I still think if I can get the bar outside the tarp, that...
Hey Johnspenn, how do you keep your spreader bar from rubbing your tarp? When we are laying down together, no problem. But when one of us gets up the spreader bar presses against the tarp. I noticed...
My trees at the house are 15' apart. I'll add the dogbones this evening and take some pics...if it works. I may have to shift everything a little closer to the foot end tree to take some of the...
I still think it will rub if I don't add the 16" dogbones.
Have a great trip! Where are y'all headed? Don't forget to report back![/QUOTE]
Dawson Forest WMA along the Etowah river.
Dutch spreader bar. One 18" male w/tip and one 18" female w/tip.
It's a 2 tree set-up. 2 trees is much easier pitching my tarp. I made a 30' ridgeline for my superfly in case we do find 3 perfect...
There's plenty of room IMO, but she wants to try the internal pole mod to see what it's like. So, I guess I'll be ordering some poles today.

Been hot in GA!
I asked Bryan through email, regarding the anodizing, and he said they are sticking with the original plan.
I used whoopies for years but just recently switched to cinch buckles. My cinch buckle set-up is a little different, I have a CL on the end of my buckle with a dutch whoopie hook spliced on it. I...
Yes, I have one.
In a pinch? Yes. Anything is better than nothing.
Strap with carabiner, Dutch cinch buckle with a whoopie hook attached. Continuous loop on hammock. Simple and you can completely remove straps when they are wet.
No. But I did purchase a poncho liner. I'm not sure how to remove this post.
Hey George, what are the lead times on these?
Very nice! I will have to check it out, hopefully I can find it...
What dates are you going? My group is doing this trip April 14th - 19th. This will be our 2nd time doing this leg, hammocks are welcome at all sites. Last time at Holton I was able to hang inside the...
Welcome, from just south of Atlanta.
Thanks, I'm actually looking to buy one as a loner. I have a trip planned in a few weeks and I don't really want to loan my down gear to anyone. My friend is not a hanger (yet) but is very excited to...
Looking for a "like new" snugpak underblanket.
Thanks
Any chance of me getting a demo stand for an April kayak/camping trip? Figured I would ask
I'm in. I just took the 24th backer spot out of 25 for the camping model.
Kinda worried that this won't be completely funded. 22k is the goal and it looks like the only model that has been funded...
So my Long Hot is already a collector's item....Sweet!!
Welcome from Henry county.
Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out if I want the insulated footbox or the snaps on my ghost pepper. That's the only decision that is holding up my order.
