Didn't think we were going to make it at all this time around, but we will be out for a couple hours today. Hope to see some familiar faces.

BAH... I thought I had everything set to go for this, but I just found out my sister and her kids are coming into town from Tennessee to visit for that weekend.
Oh well. You guys have fun. I'll be...
He did haul it all the way back, but with a couple of "rest breaks" he was convinced we could take everything in one trip... and so we did.
I'm going to try to make this trip this year, but not definite yet. I'll add to the attendee list when I'm sure. Unfortunately, it looks like theFLG has a softball game to coach that weekend, but...
I remember him getting everything in there, but I thought he was going to have to drive like this:

I ordered an adjustable structural ridgeline and some continuous loops from campermade.com. I had some dynaglide and could have made my own ASR, but I wanted to order some loops and figured I would...
Is this the Pic?

How did you get both? Is there a coupon code?
Since there have been several threads regarding this, it may indicate that there are a growing number of users that believe it could be improved. To me, that is a valid reason to revisit it and...
I'm hoping that this will be an open discussion regarding the Buy/Sell rules here on HF. This is NOT to disrespect the Moderators or to encourage skirting of the rules, but to discuss whether the...
Offer sent via PM
I'll take the Atmos 65
This is how I hang my underquilt as well. It works well for me!
Is this the Big Daddy with or without side pullouts? What is the weight of each of these?
Thanks.
Check out Shnick's reflective Tadpole tarp. >>Here<<
There is a link to the material supplier in the thread.
I'll take the bugnet. Please send me your paypal info.

Here's the banner too....
Here is the biggest one I could find out in the wild.
Its listed as 1000pixelsx1000pixels.
The Mods may have a bigger one.

Some unexpected things came up for us, and unfortunately we're not going to make it out for this one. :( Sorry 'bout that. I was really looking forward to it too. I'll be on the lookout...
90% chance of us being there. Looking forward to it. Who else is planning on coming?
Theflg and I are hoping to make it out to this one. Not 100% on it yet, though. Possibly up for some biking depending on the logistics of it. I'll pm for more info on that if the scheduling firms up...
I don't know much about thread/sewing, but i'm sure any 100% polyester thread would be fine. I believe this is just 100% polyester thread that is marketed for "outdoor projects"
The stakes are easier to pack though... I can't fit her in the pack without a compression sack and she really screams when I cinch down the straps...
Total mod cost was high for me...
Ahh. I've got it now. Thanks! I was confused since I always just tie out the corners of my diamond tarps, and then curse @ the wind if it gets too windy.
Here are a few pics of it pitched.
Oh no! my tarp grew legs! (That's actually my wife (theflg) for holding down the other side so i did not have to tie it out )
...
Love it! That was exactly my thought process. seeing the seams on the old 9x9 started this train of thought.
Very good points, and same reasons that I like my other square/diamond tarps, (I have a true 12x12 & a 9x9) but I have found that with the single tieout point on each side it is hard to get a really...
I fully agree that the mis-representation is a bad thing, but the tarp seems to be quite a value even at the actual dimensions. I'm hoping to do a soak test soon, but it may not be until the weekend....
As most of you probably know, the new Guide Gear "12x12" tarps are actually measured 12' on the diagonal ( see Here ) I have been hanging under one of the old Guide Gear 9x9 camo tarps (aka Neo...
I have the old 9x9 and the new "12x12" in the pics above. Judging by the difference in the weight of those, I would guess the new "16x16" would weigh 21.4 oz based on the old 12x12 being 30 oz. These...
Ok, Just got mine today. Here are some comparisons with the old 9x9 that has been unavailable for quite some time.
Old - 22.3 oz w/ stuff sack
New - 15.9 w/ stuff sack
Old - cat cut
New -...
I just picked up one of these last week to use as an extra gear pocket on my pack. I plan to add mitten hooks or micro s-biners to the corners and attach it to the back of my golite pinnacle to throw...
I'm a little late to the party here, but wanted to say we had a wonderful time this past weekend. We had been looking forward to this since Buck Lake and it did not disappoint. It was great to see...
hmm... I was not aware of that. Thanks for the info, angrysparrow.
If there is anyone out there looking to get rid of some, I'm still interested.
I don't see them on the Dutchware site any more, and with lots of folks upgrading to the new whoopie hooks, I figured there may be some floating around that were no longer needed. Let me know if you...
Just thinking out loud... what about 3 or 4 strips of fabric ~5" -6" wide across the body of the hammock on the bottom? then slide the pad in from one end between the strips and the body. Like the...
These dimensions work out to be:
GG 16 - 16.14 ft Diagonal
GG12 - 12.02 ft Diagonal
So they are selling them by the diagonal length. It is wrong of them to advertise a product that way, and I...
A bare 9 x12 piece of Tyvek should weigh in ~ 25.5 oz before adding tieouts or anything. The Guide Gear 12x12 is ~30 oz. Below is a comparison shot of 2 9x6 pieces of tyvek wrapped up together as if...
Nice catch I did not see that. I wonder what the difference in weight and packability are for polyester vs nylon.
Awesome! Thanks for the info. I never would have been able to figure that...
If the 12x12 was really 144 sq ft @ 30 oz that would be .208 oz per sq ft x 123= 25.625 oz. for this one, but judging from the diagram below, the 12x12 is not actually 144 sq ft, due to the cat cuts....
I saw that when ordering a 12x12 and was very interested. I believe it is a new product, so there may not be anyone out there that has one yet. The 14 ft ridgeline is a bit longer than most would...
