Cool, I picked up two of the small loop aliens off their site today. Be here next week I hope. Planning a 120-mile stretch of the AT next month so these will come in super handy. Couldn't stand how...

Do you have any experience with Z-Packs 1.25 zline or do you just use the 1.2 dyneeema? Where do you source your 1.2 dyneeema?
Hey Gadget-
I really like what you have going on there for your setup. With the 1.2/1.25, what are you using for prusiks? It sounds like, from the first video, you no longer use a CRL though, is...
Yes, that's what I'm using for my guy lines, however, I'm looking to use the 1.25 for my tarp ridgeline too. Looks like Gadget may have a potential solution for me.
I use the Micro LineLocs you can find at Z-Packs along with their 1.25 mm zline without issue so far.
Hey all,
I'm interested in making this happen, but haven't really found a significant amount of material on the subject. Hardware eg Dutch tarp worms, figure 9's, nite ize s- carabiners, knots eg...
Emailed Dave from underquilts.com who advised that he did find a new fabric that weighs less and he believes to be more breathable. I can't imagine based on that response that it would still be...
Ok, so on one end of the tarp you have two prussics. One connects to the ridgeline and the other to the flyz?
Hey Dutch,
I have a continuous, I happened to see AHE's version of the continuous the other day and am guessing that's the setup you're referring to above? Does the prussic just hook to the...
Cut the last tree down in my yard last year so I've been pondering what I would do for a hammock stand. For ease and portability, I decided on the SpeerJack stand. I picked up a few extra pieces for...
So took the ole hammock and new UQ out Sunday night right on the edge of the ocean. I forgot my thermometer, but downtown Portsmouth reached a low of 42* with winds of about 5-10 mph.
I didn't...
So a couple months ago I had purchased a custom uq from Te-Wa. I had him make a Breeze out of Momentum50. Finally got it in yesterday and WOW, is it amazing!
40* rating, could be slightly lower...
I am currently using a GT Nano-7 with UCRs from Dutch. The hammock itself weighs 4.84 oz. and the suspension is 3.39 oz. for a total weight of 8.23 oz.
I'm using one of the original zpack...
How'd the hang turn out?
McRat has a hang planned at Thomas Point Beach Campground in Brunswick, ME the 24th - 28th. Phenomenal hang spot, you guys would enjoy.
For those of you who have never been to Thomas Point Beach, it's a gorgeous campground located in Brunswick, ME. It sits against the ocean and is very spacious.
I highly recommend you all make...
That is awesome! Unfortunately, I'll be on vacation that week and out of New England completely.
Mike is a personal friend, so if the hang at the end of the month goes well, I'm sure that I can...
I'll try to be there and I'll about the family and bringing Zirk along.
I ended up going with Te-Wa because I couldn't get any response from HG. I tried emailing and calling them. I received one email response asking to call. Left two voicemails and no reponse even...
Thanks! That definitely helps. I'm leaning towards the Phoenix at this point and if/when I get a warmer UQ I'll likely go with the Phincubator.
I'm in the planning stages of a UQ. Last year I MYOG'd an IXUQ, but having used it, would like something a bit more dependable as far as fit is concerned and something that will take me lower.
...
That definitely clarifies things! The same idea would be applicable to my nano-7, correct?
Hey Sgt. Rock, at about the 9:40 mark, you hook the far side of your quilt up to the foot end. It looks like you're clipping the quilt hook to the netting. Am I seeing that correctly?
If so,...
Bump for an update!
I would likely be interested as well.
It's a 2 layer TQ. I had really considered using the pleats, but I think the 2" differential cut should work. I have a 35* WM bag for below 50* so I'm not worried about that. I'm a gram weenie so the...
Hey all,
In the process of completing an IX TQ for warmer weather. I know some of you have done the same. I've used the SIN50 template and cut the IX so I will have the differential cut, but any...
Hey All,
I've been waiting to get into hammocking for a while. Finally got most all of what I needed for Christmas. I received the Grand Trunk Nano-7, whoopie slings, tree straps and toggles,...
