Still swinging in hammock #72 - Thanks Randy for such an awesome product, it completely changed my outdoor experience!
I realize this threat is old - but - I went with 4 quilts, a 0 and 20 UQ and a 20 and 40 TQ - I have always felt that the bottom being warmer than the top worked well, you can always sag a warm UQ...
indeed!
WalksIn2Trees - I did read all of the posts - from the start, and while I might not post a lot, I have been around for a while and felt that this topic was worth commenting on from a consumer...
I have purchased a blackbird, superfly (all time fav BTW_) and a blackbird XCL from Warbonnet, four quilts from Hammock Gear, and five hammocks from Dream Hammocks - if I wanted absolutely...
Woodsie - I too went down the Hammock path in search of greater camping options and found a very comfortable alternative to the ground. That being said, I have converted a number of ground dwellers...
Looks like a awesome time was had by most! Welcome to the community from a fellow wetsider....

Great story! Hope you get the chance to tell it with the legend, Les is on my "who would you have dinner with" list! Definitely get my vote - Good Luck!
I have been using sections of Easton Carbon arrow shafts, the ones salvaged from those unfortunate misses. if you think about it they are not the most "Cost effective" option.... more practice.
Funds received, package going to the post office tomorrow, think I'll go push my "Easy Button"! - thanks RadicalHope!
Pair sold pending funds to RadicalHope!

Saweet! I have been looking for a simple way to detach the straps and cinch buckle from my hammocks, These Pacific Northwest pines and firs seem to have a fair amount of pitch on them, I had been...
Looking GOOD DaddyDaddy!!! Hopefully one day our paths will cross and we'll have them seeing double!
Randy, I'm pretty sure its just the ACU . It really turned out great thanks for your help along the way. Chose a bkack linner to collect sun heat faster for drying out the down. May spray on a DWR...
Randy whipped me up a sweet ACU Digital Camo Danger Bird and it just didn't seem right to wrap it up in a Black UQ, so a couple of e-mails later and Jenny is making me a matching 20 Deg Incubator!
...
Way to take the bull by the horns, excellent project which may become a full job!
Our Arctic fox 990 truck camper is what gets us closer to the woods, it is also "Four Season" designed, just have to watch the outside fixtures while parked at the ski hill... I have had plenty of...
My 11' DB fits nicely under a Super Fly, if you are looking to hang a pack or items on the end of your hammock and want a bit more room, look for a tarp with a 12' RL... AHE maks a couple with a 12'...
Ditto on 15' straps, the firs in the back yard hang spot are both over 10' in circumference, I also carry a "back-up" set of Whoopies, just in case...
I think the new site is great, particularly in the way it displays your products. Paypal says that a 20 Deg Incubator should show up on my porch one day! Looking forward warmer legs and less fiddling...
They both have 110" fixed RL length, the Super Fly covers up and is a most excellent tarp, but leaves very little room for anything else on the ends, like a pack or the such. Just really looking for...
Hello fellow fans of the Dream Hammock, I have a DB 72 and a Roaming Gnome 60 both are 132" this is a bit of a tight fit under my superfly! Any thoughts on a tarp that offers a bit more coverage?
I have started to use tree straps on my tarp and found that a 10' section of amsteel and a figure 9 at each end of the tarp is pretty simple. Loop thru the end of the tree strap and cinch thru the...
I would say pretty accurate, #60 arrived in the mail yesterday, should have it set up for maiden hang this afternoon! :D
Must be those fancy hollow needles ;)
We stopped their on the way back from Sturgis in 09, Plenty of trees to hang from, lots of wildlife to see, this is a shot of the morning traffic...
BajaHanger - getting more jealous every review... Come on #60! No pressure thou PapaSmurf, perfection cannot be rushed. Thanks for the review BajaHanger, show us the goods!
Not if I get to them first :shades:, still tweaking some "adds" for my dangerbird, It's what time to think will do to you.....
Yukon - have you tried it with your Phoenix UQ yet?
At #60, I'm not sure if it's better to know or not... But I can't help looking, good things arrive on the front porch for those who wait.
As always, informative, learned to not throw "pointy" things at my camera! Thanks for the smile in the middle of the day :)
You should know the rules then, don't talk about it or it will go away till July 5th
At least the sun should finally be out in the Pacific Northwest when you get to #60.... No pressure thou, can't rush an artist.
Acer - sweet tarp and brilliant idea for arrow shaft spreader, have boxes of Beeman carbon shafts from hunting days gone by, wonder if it will work on a Superfly....
This is awesome! And exactly why I chose to join this forum, excellent information and input based off of personal experiences. BillyBob58, that has to be one of the most well thought out responses...
Thanks for all the feedback on longer hammocks and other approaches as well. I think that I'm leaning toward a 11 footer. I like the integrated bug net approach so the quest continues, any thoughts?
BajaHanger, I have tried raising the foot end, as that seemed to be a fix that worked for many, and it did reduce the pressure on my calf just not to a point that it did not bother me. Maybe I'm...
Currently I have a WBBB 1.1dbl, and a ENO Dbl. a super fly and a diy tarp, I use a Hammock Gear 20 deg 3/4 Phoenix UQ and down bags as appropriate for TQ. I live in the Pacific Northwest, we have...
Maybe consider making all the connections to the hammock inside the cab, with the webbing running thru the doors, might do the least amount of dammage to the gaskets and eliminate scratching,
Everyone kept saying use the label to determine the head end easier, and I was like what label? Am losing my mind!? Turns out no! Just a special edition stealth release :)
New in January, 20* Phoenix no patch and knot at foot end...
I poured thru hundreds of post on splicing before trying the McDonald technique/instructions; the drawing on the New England ropes site was confusing to me as well. It took some fiddling but I...
Try this one McDonald locking bremmel post 40. This was the simplest one for me, works great and not to tough once you have it figured out.

My wife thinks I'm nuts too.... However when the warm weather comes back I bet she converts and becomes a true believer!
I just like to keep things simple, first name, last initials, it's shorter than the whole name John Van Hersett - JohnVH.... easy to remember :)
I ordered a 40* Phoenix on Dec 26th thru the website, and promptly deiced, albeit thru much nail biting and consul in the forum that for my first and only UQ a 20* would be more versatile, sent a...
Venting a 20* vs trying to warm up a 40* was the tipping point thanks for all the input!
E-mailed back and forth with Jenny and changed my order to a 20*, sent some extra bucks to them and just received the shipping notification today! Going to the Olympic National Forest in two weeks...
