That looks like the MARPAT camouflage. I love the idea, makes things a bit simpler. :)

Okay, so here's an update... Been sleeping in the hammock since the night I made it (except that one night) and I've been able to sleep about five hours before waking up. I re-gathered the ends and...
Pretty cool. Did you do an asym cut on it like the other version of an insulated hammock? Just curious because I'm very interested in making an insulated hammock.
=) Happy Thanksgiving.
lol Nice one, Anishemaya. I've yet to fall, but when I do I will think of all these posts and know I'm in good company. :)
=) Very nice setup you got there, tflaris. What hammock is that?
I loved this post! xD Thanks so much for the laugh.
lol That's actually a Raspberry mead (melomel) that's been aging since March. Another few months of aging and it should be good to go. ;)
1.3 yards sounds a bit short for a hammock. I believe people order 4 yards for a single layer, and 8 yards for a double layer.
+1 on WalMart for the loop turner. Another good thing to use is monofilament line, provided it's a bit stiff. I'm guessing something like 12 lb test would work.
+1 on the 11' netless hammock from Dutch. Another way you can save a few dollars is by buying about 50' of Amsteel and making your own suspension. It isn't very hard to do. Plenty of videos on...
Thanks, Phantom. The tablecloth measured 10'6" prior to the whipping, and I believe I lost a total of four inches from the whipping. I got a ridgeline length of approximately 102" when multiplied by...
I so wish I could there at this very moment. lol
Yes, I have a pillow under my knees now because after the second night I woke up with sore calves. I've slept in my hammock every night since making it, except for one night where I was away from...
=) Awesome DIY hammock. Absolutely fantastic job making it. I love all the little additions you came up with. I think she'll be a hanger for good.
Dream Hammocks has netless hammocks made from the 1.6 HyperD XL fabric which is 72" wide prior to any sewing. I've been considering getting one, as well as one of the 11 footer netless hammocks from...
Okay, everyone. Apologies for the late update but was on a ship the past two days soing some work. Just back in last night and slept in my hammock for the third night. I slept quite well, actually....
I slept in my hammock again last night, and it was different than the first night. Last night it felt as if I was in between wake and sleep. I mean, I feel rested, but a bit groggy. Not sure how well...
lol Thanks for all the encouragement, fellas. I'm not giving up on it just yet. I managed to take a nap in it earlier today by lying on my side. I might've slept longer if my phone hadn't rang. ;)
Thanks, SteveJJ. The ridgeline I have is a DIY UCR adjustable ridgeline made from 1.75mm Lash-it. I think my error was trying to sleep on my back, whereas normally a side sleeper. I think a little...
It's the standard 60" x 126" tablecloth from tableclothsfactory. I have pictures in the other thread in the DIY section.
Thanks for the encouragement, Pheonix. :)
As some of you may know, I completed my DIY tablecloth hammock yesterday. I decided to sleep in my hammock last night to see how it is. Well... I didn't sleep so well. I think it's error on my part,...
Tree straps are the way to go, Calait. Either with Dutch clips or some other fastener. I plan to just get the ones with a loop on either side and attach via soft shackles. Another way that people...
=) Thank you, Stinky.
lol I totally feel you pain, Jscudds. If I was able to buy everything I wanted from Dutch, it would come out to be about $250. Let's not even mention the $1100 worth of stuff I want from HammockGear....
=) Thanks, Trubl.

Here's the pictures, as promised. :)
Okay, so I got my package from Dutch yesterday and made a set of 6' whoopie slings, a set of 8" continuous loops, and a pair of soft shackles (all from 7'64" Amsteel) and a UCR adjustable ridgeline...
Calait, any of the Hexon hammocks from DutchwareGear will suffice for you. They're very reasonably priced. He offers a ton of colors. If you want to see if hammocking is for you and wouldn't mind a...
=) Your thread was what inspired me to make this post, Ramblinrev. I learned quite a bit about sewing machines from your thread. Thank you very much.
Thanks, Boston. I really appreciate your feedback. Nice to know that I don't have to spend an arm and leg on a decent machine. :)
Thank you for the explanation, GMC. :)
GMC, would you mind explaining the math behind the design? I also would like to make some dog bones. Thanks in advance.
I'm considering getting a Janome 2212 thread injector for DIY stuff. Does any of youse guys have experience with this model? I'd probably start off doing simple things such as hammocks, UQ, TQ, and...
"With Spuddies, enough is never enough"... Same philosophy applies here, JWY. :)
That quote is from the movie, "Over the Hedge". lol
I won't be able to make it this year, but next year is definitely doable. :)
Thank you for this post, Dublinlin. Been thinking of getting one of these for my inside setup. Nice to know they work well. :)
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I've decided to just make 3' whoopie slings and attach them directly to the hammock. I'd then run the adjustable loop to the included carabiners.
P.S. Yes,...
Okay, ladies and gents... I've been searching and searching and racking my brain trying to figure out the easiest way to hang my DIY hammock. I've ordered this hardware set...
Thank you for this booklet. It will definitely come in handy.
I got a tracking number from Dutch already... that's insane. Lol Insane in a good way, of course.
Nodust, thanks for that. That's exactly what I'm planning to do with mine. I ordered the 60x126...
From what I've been reading, oversleeping can be an issue. lol Especially on a workday.
lol Nice... I love the Jimmy John's fire commercial. How do you like the hammocks that the tablecloths make?
Dang... youse guys beat me to it. lol I've read nothing but stellar reviews about Dutch's hammocks.
Exactly how I feel, Namtrag. I hear the shipping from TCF is notoriously slow, so it'll give me some time to splice some UCRs, an adjustable ridgeline and some continuous loops. Glad to know I'm not...
lol Much appreciated, Nodust. Do they offer a daily meeting? ;)
Well, I've gone ahead and bit the bullet... lol I've just made an order to Dutch for some DIY (Amsteel, lash-it, some shock cord), a couple tablecloths from TCF, and an indoor hammock hanging kit...
Well, ever since I was 17, my nickname was Papa Smurf. But... we already have a Papa Smurf here on the forums, so I went with an old standby. I served in the Army so that's where the "Army" come...
Thanks a bunch, HK. I really appreciate the photos. :)
=) Very nice, build. I've been interested in this idea for some time and glad to see someone has taken it to fruition via DIY. I'm a bit curious how you've sewn the triangle piece on top. Any advice...
