FYI...I just heard from Old4Hats Charles Cook. He has a very bad case of kidney stones. They are going to zap them Monday. We will be at Yates for the fall hang. Maybe one or both of us will be seen...
Welcome from Garner. A friend told me something about 35 years ago that I have put to practice a few times since. He said if you are buying something you want and it is something you don't need don't...
I have a "small" pot.
I would like to add some thank you's to Dutch as well. An order is in the near future. I have to help my wife get better from back surgery and then some Dutch ware. She also says "thank you Dutch."
...
He is doing well. On tap to go home tomorrow, Thursday. He says he feels aok. Has to wear a monitor for a month to make sure they did a good job.
You just have to go to as many group hangs as possible.
I have been to a lot of hangs in the South East, none bad, all great, but Yates is my priority hang.
Got it on the calendar. It is a great hang.
Can you attach cinch buckles to the existing loops? They are only $5 a set.
What they said and missing one more time thru the buckle with the strap. And then there was that one time I walked the hammock backward while using a turtledog stand. All my falls have been operator...
Anyone know how to find the thread of the total number of TD stands that have been built?
Looks just like the 3 I built. They work great.
Life is a tough teacher. You get the test first and then the lesson. Bet you have a better understanding of lateral force now.
Tragic for everyone. Hammock adds only stress the fun and they need to stress safety. Hammocks have given this old man (75) the ability to get out in the woods that I grew up in. People who don't...
Good to welcome someone from near by. I also hang in a Hennesy, or table cloth if the weather is nice.
Well I have been doing nothing for two weeks and nothing is on the calendar for next weekend so all of a sudden I have been called on by the daughter to check on the grand dogs. And then I was...
Is that a selfie?
I am a "maybe."
Friendly bears at Raven Cliff Falls.
Right on Deb. None of us old folks got sick and we got wet and cold but none of us have that dreaded J.O.B.
Your absences was noted Tall Paul. Hope to see you in the fall.
If you are hanging on trees walk backwards after you are in a sitting position. If you are on a stand don't do that. I don't have an answer for stands except hang your hammock higher if possible.
Welcome from Garner,NC. Go to the first page or home page and toggle down until you see campouts, outings and click on southeast. I think the next one is at Merchants Mill Pond. Come on out.
That was suppose to be a reply with quote from gasxxviii. Just want to convey how much we appreciate you for going the extra MILES to hang with us.
Thanks to you and Matt for coming and showing these southern boys some cooking skills. Looking forward to seeing you again at more hammock hangs.
Chigger and 4Hats made it safely to Garner. We will keep our friends a couple of days for some rest up before they head to Ga. Way too many people to thank for so many things to name people except...
The very best way to keep the longer strap off the ground and away from critters and dirt.
Exactly my experience. Floral wire in 16 or 18 gauge should work. I keep going to a craft store just 10 min. away but they only have 12 gauge. Too big. I am being very careful with my last piece.
I use a lot of cheap straps from Home Depot or Lowes and they are thin and slick. When I place the strap through the cinch part of the buckle I fold the strap and put that into the cinch. So far so...
YEaaaa!!!!!
Didn't get a picture but I plan on doing 12 nights in 12 months in 2017. Last night in the back yard takes care of January. Feb. will be at Merchants Mill Pond and March at Yates Place. Hope April...
He will try. Yates is high on his list of fun hangs.
Rockdawg June 9 is my birthday and this hang is all I desire for a gift. If I make it I will help you chill.
Marking this on the calendar. Love hanging at Yates and the fellowship.
I have had two note worthy falls. 1. This has been entered already but it has and will happen to many hammock hangers. The middle of the night nature call and you think you have your hammock and...
I just added you to the HF member sheet. It has members listed by state. New members might not know about the list. You became number 187 for NC. The Tar Heel state has the most listed, we just don't...
I have built a few stands and cut the ridge poles to get a 5 &1/2 foot and a 6 & 1/2 foot in order to get a 12 foot ridge. After building 3 of these I had several shorter pieces of fence rail so I...
Hello from Garner. My Grandson went to Apex High, lives on the Cary side of Hwy 64 and is a Freshman at App State. I gave him a hammock and tarp for graduation. Hope to get a night in the woods with...
What he said.
TC hammocks will stuff into a 1 gallon Ziplock bag and you can push the air out and vacuum seal it. Much less space in the pack this way.
A place I have been wanting to check out is Carters Dam near Talking Rock. There is primitive camping after a 2 mile hike. No water except for the lake. Not a bad drive from Marietta.
News from Raleigh reported at least 20 fires in Western N.C. Even more sad they said at least 10 of those were caused by arson.
Hanging.....I felt my suspension slip a bit this morning when I opened my payment forms for medical insurance for 2017. If we can get this resolved I will try to be there mid-day Friday.
Thanks, it takes one to know one.
Thanks Chuck, Doc. appointment tomorrow morning.
FYI, my wife's high sugar levels that we had control of has taken a 180 degree turn. We have had two nights this week end of dangerously low readings. A 52 Friday and a 75 last night. My plans for...
That would be the one.
It is the .50 inch X 60 inch priced at $4.99 I think. Nothing to do to them but put in place with "S" binner. I larks head a ponytail band to the tarp to allow some stretch in case of wind.
Plastic cord covers from Home Depot or Lowes will do the trick for less than $20.00. Use small "S" biners to connect to tarp.
