I don't have any experience with that type of hammock either, but I measured about halfway down the braces (where it looks like it would be most likely to be an issue) and there is 70" of clearance....

You could larks head your tree straps to the eyebolts, then use a toggle & marlin spike hitch to attach your whoopies. Or if your whoopies are long enough, you could use a carabiner to connect them...

You can just tie your tarp straight to the uprights as if they were trees. Or use the eyebolts. I'll try to get a pic of my stand with the tarp up.

I've been using these on my own stand for over a month and haven't had any problems. I weigh around 240-250 and I hang from them everyday. I think that is a working load number, not a max load.

Those are the straps I use. I weigh around 240 and have had no problems at all. Having cut the cam-buckle off, I definitely believe they are the reason for the lower rating. They are cheap metal....
