I feel like I could ask about using a spark plug from a '63 Chevy Corvair as a hammock suspension component and you would already have made a video about it.

I recently made the switch to a double layer RidgeRunner and love it. I've been using a Nemo Tensor Insulated inflatable pad as bottom insulation. Haven't had an opportunity yet to see how low I can...
I don’t know, that’s why I asked :) I’ve been out of the hammock camping game for a few years and the last time I did it I lived in Florida. I figured it might have spread from there, and I see...
Hi all. Is there an up-to-date guide somewhere that details where hammocks are or aren’t allowed, where 2” straps are required, etc?
I just tried it to test whether it would work and it did not. I would email Warbonnet.
My best guess is early the following week, but I’m just a random internet bro so I could be way wrong.
Refreshing over and over for that RR re-stock was one of the more stressful shopping experiences I’ve had, but I got what I was after.
Question in title.
Hi all. I’m planning to order a RidgeRunner soon, and am trying to decide between single or double layer. At least some of the time I plan to use my 25” wide Nemo Tensor insulated inflatable pad....
Hi folks! I’m new to Utah - just moved here from Florida in July. This will be my first winter living somewhere that actually has a winter, and I want to get out to experience cold weather...
Any idea on the timing of the double layer? Obviously hard to predict given the world we’re in, but do you expect it to be a looooong time or less than a looooong time?
Oh gosh, somehow I missed that entirely. That's what I get for assuming instead of reading :)
I am probably going to have to miss this after all. My anniversary is on Dec 18 and we normally take a trip, but can't do so around that time this year. So instead we will probably do a trip on MLK...
Howdy neighbor!
Due to a change in circumstances, this hang is now canceled. I will try to organize another one at Torreya in a month or two.
There is not as far as I'm aware. You might could leave your car on the side of the road outside the gate but I'm not sure if they'd do anything about it Saturday morning. If you decide to do that, I...
Howdy from Tallahassee.
Right now the only confirmed attendies are myself and birdiesgirl. They close the gate to the park at sunset, but if you can make it in before then it's about 0.75 miles from the parking lot to the...
Went out to scout the site yesterday. We should be able to do 2-3 hammocks no problem. Might have to spread out from what is technically our site to accomdate more than that. The stream that runs...
We have a reservation at Rock Creek site #3. That's the only one that was open Saturday night. Looks like a popular time of year at Torreya. The ranger mentioned that she recommends not to rely...
I can be.
Okay my family situation has been resolved so still good to go for the original dates of 21-23.
If you plan to attend, please reply and let me know even if you have already done so.
Howdy from Tallahassee! If you make it up here, I'd be glad to show you my gear and how it all gets set up and works together.
IMPORTANT
I've had some family stuff come up that may require me to be unavailable the weekend this trip is scheduled. For those of you who plan on attending, would it be alright to reschedule for...
Hanger, you can count me in for the hike. Don't care which day.
I meant more like I don't know if "we" means you and the wife or you and and the whole Boy Scout troop :)
Updated attendance:
1. WaffleBox
2. abatis49 +2 or +3
3. birdiesgirl
4. Robin A
Maybe:
5. happydensity
I'll be there, and I'll bring my harp to play around the fire. Real harp, not harmonica.
Thanks, that is very kind of you!
Okay so I am finally getting around to posting a planning thread.
Dates: Oct 21-23, 2016
Location: Torreya State Park, about 30 miles west of Tallahassee
Activities: Hiking, hanging, lounging,...
I'm going to post an official planning thread this weekend. We'll likely get a primitive spot on the regular trail for two nights, and do a day hike of the whole 14 mile figure 8 on the second day....
Did you make it through okay? Our power was out until about 1.5 hours ago but no damage to anything.
Then you should definitely come to Torreya. You'll feel like you're not even in Florida anymore.
Just for giggles I'll add a hike-and-hang at Torreya State Park the weekend of Oct 21-23, in case anybody wants to see other parts of the state. :)
Howdy from a native of Coos Bay!
My tarp has no ripstop and it has held up well throughout the one time I've used it. :)
God's color, even if it's not new.
Sorry, I got nothing. After I finished, I drove to Aspen in my stink and showered at a hotel that night. There is no real civilization within 45-60 minutes of the trail head. The closest place that's...
Do they take cards?
That's less than two weeks away!
My drier usually gives up fabric softener for lent.
Just in case it's helpful, I'll just leave this here:

I had mine made with cat cuts on one long edge and Knotty Mod on the other side so I'd have one side that I could sit on comfortably and get in and out of.
Howdy! I grew up in Coos Bay.
Sounds like carpooling may be in order again. But I'll drive this time so that I'll notice as soon as I lose my car key, instead of halfway across the state :)
I'll be coming in from Pat's Island. Not sure what time. Probably mid afternoon.
I'll probably come.
I'll be in Minneapolis for a conference in the middle of September, and would like to add a 2-3 day hike on to the trip while I'm there. Any suggestions? It needs to be reasonably easy to get to from...
Wind + rain with a small asym tarp will probably lead to you and your gear getting wet. Asym tarps are fine if the rain is falling straight down, but if it blows sideways at all then they provide...
Howdy! I grew up in Coos Bay but live in Florida now.
