My wife wants to know if any other women are coming; she doesn't want to be the only one?

Jazz, the directions given on the link can be shortened about 25 miles if you get off I49 at the 119 Cloutierville exit before you get to Natchitoches.
Kisatchie Bayou campground is about 11 miles from the Carolyn Dorman/Backbone trail heads. Actually, the Carolyn Dorman trail ends/begins at Kisatchie Bayou campground. KBC is a primitive site with...
Kincaid sounds good to me. I think I can make this one.
Sorry folks but Jan and I won't be able to make it. Site #30 is paid for so it can be used by who ever needs some space. See you next year.
Yep! Over-thought that one:eek:
I believe we will not have to worry about the burn ban.
Jazz, excuse my ignorance..... where is TBD?
dlfred1... You are in a good area for hangs. The thread will probably start soon for the annual LA 2015 hang at Kincaid lake. Great time with excellent food. Check out the forum thread from last...
Mike, Jan & I had a really great time. Thanks so much for all the hard work. Could not imagine it could get any better. See you again next year.
The original quote came from Mark Twain:
“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the...
Sorry Jason. I've got to cancel. My job is going to call me in. Five more seasons till retirement and it won't happen again:(
I'm a thinking so too!!!!!!!!
Looks like temps will range from lows in the mid 60's to highs in the mid 80's. Don't need much insulation for that;)
The high in Gardner (Kincaid Reservoir) will be 85 today and 55 in the morning--this could be really great weather.:)
From the sound of it he'll fit right in. In fact, if you got the time bro........... the Louisiana hang is in October: 9th through the 12th. You'll blend right in with all the other Cajun...
Jan & I are pretty good maybe.
I'll be there.
ERL is one of my favorite trails also CM. I don't think I've been able to hike the whole trail with someone else. Only solo.
With the date coming back to October, I'll bet "Old Gringo" will be back to the LA hang with the endless coffee machine. I think he has made all 5 of the Texas hangs. He was with us last year at...
That second weekend in November is generally really good weather on both sides of the state line. It tends not to conflict with other nonhang events. Not too cool or too hot. Less bugs! I see why...
It took a few attempts to find the right temps. & times. Ahhhh, but that's most of the fun--isn't it;)
I had to make the lid to go on the skillet. I started with an old disk plate & forged a ring around it on the anvil to seal the edge & stop the briquettes from sliding off. Then welded a handle on...
Are we going to attempt a LaTex winter hang--in say January? Be great to mix both groups!
Thanks everyone for a great time. This was Jan's first hang & she loved it! The Grand Trunk hammock she picked up at the drawing was the icing on the cake. I had to put a suspension on it Sunday...
Great pics Rat! When did you have time to talk?
Just west of Alexandria, LA at Kincaid lake.
I like the idea of the LA hang & the TX hang. Both have their own flavors.:boggle: The 2nd weekend in Nov is the perfect time. The hanger will just have to choose. I'm flippin this...

+1 on the LaTex winter hang. Flame on for the campfire chatter. The timing should be easy since both hangs are at the same time, and we can start the post after the events...
You sure can. The more the merrier. No limits with this group:D
Soooo true!
If you build it..... they will come!:D
+1 for a digital copy.
+1 on Fronky's bug net. I'm no expert with a sewing machine, and it was not difficult. It is the easiest and quietest to get in and out of.
Way to go Dave! Keep up the recovery program. I need your coffee at Fairfield:o
That is cooooool!
You'd have to find a laaaaarge place to pull that one off. There's a bunch of folks from both groups, but that would be fun to to try!:shades:
Do I feel a new event a brewin'?:boggle:
Mike, have you heard from any of the music folks yet? I heard you had a jammin' good time last year. I would enjoy a repeat of that!:D
Dave, its about 4 months to the Fairfield hang, you got something to shoot for!
Does FLSP lock you in at night. Some of us might be late coming in.
I don't get to go to anything in the spring:thank you my JOB:(
I would too Caveman, both are great events!
We have a conflict with the Fairfield, Tx hang. They just posted: Nov. 8-10th. Something to consider. I know we have a lot of hangers who look forward to both.
