Hey neighbor. Welcome from Mobile. Also a fellow scouter.
Welcome from Mobile, AL. I left Cedar Grove, WI 20 years ago. I haven't missed the snow yet. I do miss the beer and cheese...and cool summers....and the fall colors.....aw heck :(
Lots of input but a broad spectrum. How do you hang? Backpacking? biking? Motorcycle? Car camping?
I use a AHE KAQ Jarbridge river and it kept me warm to 35F this last weekend even in the wind....

Yes
To me the area that counts.
I have had mine hung high all summer. Then Friday night was my first hang under 60F, at 35F. I had it hung high and was cold.
Sat night I had a steep learning...

I had asked about how much of the Pinhoti she had seen and she said that she had only done the skyway loop before but likes the long season and will be hiking it before long.
Took it down to 35F this weekend, It was great. I had some cold spots the first night, but a little learning curve later and The second night it was windy and 37F and I was snug as a bug in a rug....
Friends. I got bonus.
When I left all of you with Bently71. Bigbamaguy gave us a ride to Adams gap. We hiked in toward the Stairway to Heaven. And we started to talk to the traffic hikers, and we...

OK, My son has a test last block on Friday, so I can't leave Mobile till 2:30pm. It is a 5 hour ride if traffic is light. So I will get there by 7:30PM at the earliest. I want to keep navigational...
36hrs (before I head that way)
I have hung on the ridge before, The overnight low that night was 68F and the wind gave a chill. The wind will be a factor.
My son and I have summer setups. 3 season 3/4 UQ and a small DryFly tarp....
Baptism by ice! My first real hang with the Jarbridge River will be in the upper 30F! I normally am a cold sleeper. The Jarbridge river my 30F mummy bag and a fleece bag as a cold spot filler. Wow, I...
Welcome from Mobile, AL!
Hmm I was considering the opposite. Camp at the base camp and Saturday start at Adams gap and hike to a spot I picked just south of mcdill to camp on the ridge. It will be a tad warmer on Sat night...

Is Conecuh hammock friendly? I have hiked the trail and camped along it but never at a site.
Little River state park is hammock friendly. Just north of Atmore (and the prisons):scared:.

I'll bet you could get some backing from other HB owners. Post the need to have a HB section in the Feed back section and see how many others post up.
