I ordered a set anyway...I'll let you know how they turn out. Too cheap not to experiment.
Just saw this...still pretty new to the hammock scene, but thought I would pass along this deal. 2 CCF folding sit pads for nearly $4 shipped. Not even sure how this is possible, but I'm getting 2...
Thanks for the trade for the MSR! I hope you like the etrex!
I have a Garmin etrex, an older model (picture attached). Interested in trading for the sweetwater. It works great and I have never had any issues. Battery life is excellent IMO.
Let me know...
The outfitter is not local to me so no, I cannot. I received a canister in the mail from amazon.com with no special labeling or packaging so I think it will probably be fine.
So I screwed up when I was at an outfitter's shop and bought canisters that don't work with my stove...leave it to me. Anyway, they are brand new. They say Campingaz Easy Clic plus which does not...
Sorry, didn't read the whole thing...my comment only applies to nook color devices. Still good info to have . I think the card is about $30.
Just a heads up you can get an SD card on Amazon.com from N2A (nook to android) that allows you to boot from the sd card and makes the nook a pretty decent tablet computer.
That is some great info, thanks! I believe I might get a cheat sheet together and laminate it to take with me on trips so I don't forget something that could otherwise save a lot of time. I've got...
cool! Thanks!
I'm enjoying my GTUL...seems to do the trick for now. Campmor.com had them on sale for $13 a pop when I got mine.
Walmart has what appears to be an awesome set of ultralight tent stakes, Y style, for less than $5 for a set of 4 - 9" stakes.
I picked a pair up and they seems like they will work great. I...
I've been looking at the MoonLit version...looks perfect for a ridgeline!
Amazon has them for $9 w/ prime: Amazon Link
Some nice items...wish I would have seen this earlier before everything got gone.
Yep, no price listed...
Thanks for clearing up the BBQ issue...it's a pet peeve of mine for folks to not differentiate between grilling and BBQ. If there's no smoke, then there's no que.

WOW!!! I cannot believe how simple that was. I was able to get both done tonight!
Thanks so much!!!
Oh, and I used about a 2 ft section of 26 gauge wire (probably close to guitar string...
I've been looking at the recon version. You can get one for around $60 from a seller on Amazon or from left-lane sports online. Left lane seems to have them sometimes, but not other times...not...
I was thinking the same thing. Synthetic materials = Flammable! Just something to keep in mind when camping regardless of what method you are using, tent or hammock.;)
Interesting...everyone has their own neat way of making things work. That's why I love this site!
Some great info, thanks!
lol!!!!!!!!!!!
Cool, didn't realize I just ordered grey...added benefit! Thanks.
Just ordered some amsteel from Westmarine, can't wait to pick it up and make some whoopies!
I'm glad I saw this thread. I've really been debating back and forth over the tarp issue. I WANT to go lightweight, but just CANT afford a decent tarp and I don't want to spend $40-50 on something...

For all yall northern / yankee types, that's how we say Hi in the South (right after we take a swig of some good sweet tea).
Well not too much to my story, I've been an...
Laziboie (laze-E-boy) was a name I picked back in the old days using AOL instant messenger with some friends. The good names were taken already so I needed to be creative and it has stuck ever...
Just a heads up, woot.com has a down deal right now with a twin down comforter at $55. Might make for a good TQ.

That tarp ties in great with the yard...seriously good camo. Looks good to me, just seems like overkill though.
I'll second the CRKT M16...awesome quality.
Awesome! Just realized I have a Westmarine nearby as well...I think I'll call and see if they carry this in-stock.
Hopefully I can make my own whoopies!
Do you still have any of the 3.75 black? I'll take a set if you do. Thanks!
That is a good list, thanks. I like the quote as well.
I am new to it as well and I'm going to second Gunner76's suggestion to watch Shug's Youtube videos: Hammock How-To For Noobs. It really helped me a lot.
Also, ask questions (like you are doing)...
Yeh...I got that wrong. You are right. But it is still pretty light considering.
I just got this in the mail yesterday and it is awesome! A good price right now at $30.
GSI Pinnacle Cook Set - On-sale @ Campmor.com
You just sparked an idea in my head with the baffle talk. With a tarp, mylar and a hot glue gun / some sort of adhesive (I don't sew, lol), one could easily their own system with baffles like that. ...
Awesome!
WHOOOO BUDDY!!!
Thanks for responding...I've been reading around and I just got the impression that a pad and a bag wasn't enough. If a cheap 1/4"-1/2" foam pad and a sleeping bag...
I just got my first hammock (never even hung it yet) and I'm already thinking about how I can prevent cold spots on an upcoming trip. For some reason, I have it in my mind that there has to be...
I was thinking about using a space blanket similar to this one: Space Blanket and using velcro to secure it around the sides of my hammock with a gap underneath. From what I understand, the issue is...
